    • Lit up in loss
Littell (3-6) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over four innings to take the loss versus the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: Littell mostly had things under control until the Rangers erupted for six runs in the fourth inning. He left with a 7-2 deficit, and the Rangers continued to find success against the Rays' bullpen, leaving Littell to take his first loss in four starts. He's had one bad outing in each month of the season, but he's given up four or more runs just four times in 18 starts. The right-hander has a 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 91:17 K:BB through 95.1 innings. Littell will look to bounce back versus the Guardians in a challenging matchup at home next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:35 pm

    • Freddie Freeman one of six Dodgers named All-Stars
Freddie Freeman was named to his eighth National League All-Star team on Sunday.

Advice: Freeman is one of six Dodgers to be named to the National League squad. Shohei Ohtani had already been named as the league’s starting designated hitter and Tyler Glasnow was named among the pitchers on Sunday. In addition, Teoscar Hernandez, Will Smith and Mookie Betts were named to the team with Freeman as reserves. Joining them as All-Star reserves announced on Sunday were Elly De La Cruz, CJ Abrams, Ryan McMahon, Jackson Merrill, Heliot Ramos, Bryan Reynolds, Marcell Ozuna, Luis Arraez and Pete Alonso. • Littell lit up in loss to the Rangers
Zack Littell allowed seven runs on nine hits in four innings in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: Littell has been inconsistent in his first season as a starter and has a 4.44 ERA on the year. His name has been mentioned in trade rumors with the Rays looking like sellers, but it’s also possible that the Rays will decide to move Littell back into a long relief role with Jeffrey Springs nearing a return to the MLB rotation. All of that makes Littell a risky bet beyond the All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:26 pm

    • Heading out for rehab assignment
Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that he anticipates Bednar (oblique) reporting to Triple-A Indianapolis this week to begin a rehab assignment, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Bednar has been on the 15-day injured list since June 23 with a left oblique strain, but he's on the cusp of a return after he threw a 21-pitch live batting practice session Saturday without incident. Cherington didn't say whether Bednar would require more than one rehab appearance with Indianapolis, but with the All-Star break looming, it wouldn't be surprising if the Pirates waited until the start of their second-half schedule July 19 before activating their closer. • Heading to bench Sunday
Siri is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Texas, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Siri is mired in a 1-for-23 slump and will take a seat for Sunday's series finale. Jonny DeLuca will start in center field and bat seventh against Rangers righty Nathan Eovaldi. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:29 am

    • Used in eighth frame again Saturday
Phillips (2-0) was charged with a blown save and earned the win against Milwaukee on Saturday. He allowed one run on one hit while striking out one batter over one inning.

Advice: With the Dodgers up 3-2 in the top of the eighth frame, manager Dave Roberts elected to call upon Phillips to face the heart of the Brewers order. The right-hander couldn't protect the lead, giving up a one-out solo homer to Christian Yelich. Phillips did get credited for the win, however, as a result of Los Angeles tallying two runs in the bottom of the frame and Alex Vesia closing things out in the ninth. This was the second time in the past two weeks that Roberts has called upon Phillips before the ninth inning in a high-leverage situation, so it's clear that the team is comfortable using him in that way. Phillips should still get the vast majority of save chances for the Dodgers, though Vesia has five saves on the campaign and is probably the leading candidate for ninth-inning duties when Phillips is either unavailable or deployed earlier in a contest. • Allows two runs over five frames
Paxton did not factor into the decision in a win over Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings while striking out three.

Advice: Paxton allowed one run to come across in the opening frame before surrendering just three hits and a walk from that point on. However, one of those hits was a solo home run off the bat of Rhys Hoskins, marking the second start in a row in which the lefty's given up the long ball and third time in his last three outings. Paxton threw only 10 of his 21 first pitches for strikes on the night and walked multiple batters for the third straight start. He'll look to pick up the first win since June 17 (span of three starts) when the Dodgers travel to Detroit next week to take on the Tigers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:55 am

    • Settles for quality start Saturday
Bradley came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander was still the pitcher of record when the Rays took the lead in the top of the seventh, putting Bradley in line for his fourth win of the year, but Kevin Kelly blew the save in the bottom of the frame. The quality start was Bradley's third in his last five trips to the mound, a stretch in which he's posted a 1.29 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 45:13 K:BB through 35 innings. The 23-year-old right-hander will look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Guardians. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:51 am
    • Brenton Doyle homers again, Rockies edge Royals
Brenton Doyle clubbed a two-run homer on Saturday, leading the Rockies to a 3-1 win over the Royals.

Advice: Doyle’s 408-foot moonshot off Royals starter Seth Lugo in the second-inning was his fourth round-tripper in his last five contests and also gave Colorado an early advantage that they didn’t relinquish. The 26-year-old was already a brilliant defender in center field coming into the year, but he’s made some serious strides at the plate this season with 11 homers and 20 steals already heading into the All-Star break. He’s on fire at the moment, batting a surreal .423 (11-for-26) with four homers, nine RBI and one steal over his last seven contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:22 am
