    • James McArthur blows save in ninth, loses in 10th
      James McArthur took a blown save and a loss after allowing two runs — one earned — between the ninth and 10th innings Sunday against the Rangers.

      Advice: McArthur blew the save by giving up a game-tying homer to Jonah Heim in the ninth. In spite of that, the Royals stuck with him in the 10th. He allowed only the automatic runner to score, but the Royals couldn’t let him off the hook from there. It’s not the kind of outing that will reflect particularly badly on him.     • Brent Rooker stays hot with two hits in loss
      Brent Rooker went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in a loss to the Marlins on Sunday.

      Advice: Rooker now has hits in seven of his last eight games and has six hits in this weekend’s series against the Marlins alone. He’s now slashing .256/.348/.615 on the year with eight home runs and 20 RBI. Rooker is a notoriously streaker hitter, so we have no idea how long this heater will last, but he should be on rosters while he’s swinging the bat this well. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago
       
    • Blown save, loss versus Texas
      McArthur (1-1) blew a save and picked up the loss after he pitched two innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning defeat to the Rangers.

      Advice: McArthur entered the game with the Royals up 2-1 in the top of the ninth inning, giving up a game-tying solo home run to Jonah Heim with one out in the inning. He later returned for the top of the 10th frame, allowing the inherited runner to score on an RBI single by Nathaniel Lowe. The blown save was McArthur's second in nine total save opportunities this season and he currently possesses a 2.87 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 15.2 innings in 13 appearances this season.       Joe Ryan pitched six innings and allowed three runs Sunday in a loss to the Red Sox.

      Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Sunday that Yelich (back) has resumed swinging the bat in addition to running and throwing, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: The 32-year-old seemingly had a breakthrough in his recovery from a low back strain this weekend, when he had his best session in the batting cage since landing on the shelf, according to MLB.com. Yelich said that he's targeting a return to action before the Brewers' road trip wraps up Wednesday in Kansas City, but don't be surprised if the team takes a more conservative approach and gives him more time to heal up from the back injury before activating him from the 10-day injured list.       Marte went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Marte drove in the Mets' only run of the game with an RBI single in the top of the first, following a leadoff double from Brandon Nimmo to open the frame. The right fielder would add another single and a walk in the contest while also swiping his seventh bag of the season. Marte has struggled a bit at the plate as of late and is batting just .188 (3-for-16) in May. However, he's also tallied multiple hits in five of his last 11 games.     • Isaac Paredes reaches three times in Rays’ win
      Isaac Paredes went 2-for-3 with an RBI on Saturday, lifting the Rays to a 3-1 win over the Mets.

      Advice: Paredes opened the scoring with a first-inning RBI single off Mets rookie starter Christian Scott. He reached base three times in the low-scoring affair and scored a pivotal insurance run in the eighth inning when José Caballero drew a bases-loaded free pass.     • Starling Marte has two hits, steals base in loss
      Starling Marte went 2-for-3 with an RBI and also stole a base on Saturday in the Mets’ loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Marte was one of the few bright spots for the Mets in this one as they managed just six hits combined against Rays starter Zack Littell and a trio of relievers. It’s still early, but the 35-year-old veteran outfielder has looked rejuvenated this season, batting .275/.313/.408 with 16 runs scored, four homers, 15 RBI and seven steals in 129 plate appearances.     • Homers twice in third inning
      Rooker went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Saturday's 20-4 victory over the Marlins.

      Advice: HE became the first Athletics player to homer twice in the same inning since Mark McGwire did it in September of 1996. Rooker did it during Oakland's 10-run third inning Saturday, taking starter Trevor Rogers deep with a two-run shot and then reliever Darren McCaughan over the boards with a three-run blast. He also added a single and a walk. Rooker is up to eight home runs on the season even after going on the injured list last month. Of course, he's also hitting just .240 and striking out at a 36.5 percent rate, but fantasy managers knew what they were getting into with Rooker and should be satisfied with the returns 22 games in.
