    • Zac Gallen lasts just four innings versus Dodgers
Zac Gallen allowed three runs over four innings Thursday in his start versus the Dodgers.

Advice: The results weren’t great, but Gallen’s velocity tonight was even better in his first start back from the IL; he averaged 95.9 mph on his fastball, up from 95.2 mph last time out and 92.9 mph in the 11 starts before he went on the IL. Because of the diminished velocity, we were a bit down on him before his hamstring injury. He seems like a better bet now, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:29 pm
    • Keeps rolling
Ober (8-4) picked up the win Thursday against Detroit, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: All three runs scored by the Tigers came with two outs in the second inning after strike three to Zach McKinstry got past Ryan Jeffers and allowed McKinstry to reach first and extend the inning. Still, Ober managed to generate a fourth straight quality start and outing with at least eight Ks. Through 94.0 innings, Ober owns a 4.12 ERA and a 100:23 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox in Chicago next time out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 pm

    • Witt Jr. a triple shy of the cycle against Rays
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 14th of the season. He took Pete Fairbanks deep with a solo shot in the ninth inning. Witt Jr. remains one of the best hitters in fantasy this season. He’s hitting .319 with a .925 OPS and 58 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:53 pm

    • Brent Rooker has two hits, steals base in victory
Brent Rooker went 2-for-3 with an RBI and also stole a base on Thursday in the Athletics’ win over the Angels.

Advice: Rooker extended Oakland’s early lead with a run-scoring single in the third inning off Angels starter Roansy Contreras before picking up his fourth theft of the season later in the frame. The 29-year-old outfielder is in the midst of a strong season with an .880 OPS with 17 homers and four steals through 74 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:22 pm

    • Reaches 10-steal mark
Gelof went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Angels.

Advice: The steal was Gelof's 10th of the year. He's picked up two of those thefts during an eight-game stretch in which he's gone 7-for-27 with a 4:13 BB:K. The second baseman is at a .201/.263/.361 slash line with nine home runs, 23 RBI and 30 runs scored over 67 contests, but his 36.2 percent strikeout rate is weighing down the rest of his stat line. • Bailey Ober strikes out eight in win over Tigers
Bailey Ober worked six innings and allowed three runs — one earned — in a victory over the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Ober struck out eight and walked none. He has a 27/3 K/BB ratio in his last three starts and a 100/23 K/BB ratio in 94 innings for the year. The 4.12 ERA still isn’t great, but everything else is exactly what one would expect from him. He’ll face the White Sox next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Swipes two bags in win
Thomas went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Thursday's win against the Mets.

Advice: Thomas had his fifth game of the season with multiple stolen bases, which is the second most in MLB behind Elly De La Cruz (eight). Thomas already has 19 steals in 58 games this season, one away from the career high he set last season in 156 contests. The 28-year-old continues to be a solid producer since returning from a knee injury in late May, slashing .268/.327/.504 with six homers and 25 RBI over his last 36 games. • Executes five out save
McArthur picked up his 15th save of the season in Wednesday's win over the Rays, allowing a hit and no walks while striking out one in 1.2 innings.

Advice: McArthur entered in the eighth with two runners on and one out with the Rays already having scored a run in the inning. He was able to navigate through the traffic and then pitched around a leadoff single in the ninth to lock down the save. McArthur has been lights out of late, throwing eight scoreless innings over his last eight appearances since June 13, and he's converted each of his last four save chances. • Launches homer in loss
Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and two walks in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Paredes took Michael Wacha deep in the opening frame for an early 1-0 lead. He and Amed Rosario were the only Rays to get on base multiple times in the game as Paredes drew multiple walks for the first time since May 17. He's now racked up five extra-base hits, reached base a total of eight times and driven in four runs over his last three games. Paredes is enjoying another productive campaign after breaking out last year, slashing .276/.365/.481 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, 33 runs and a 35:57 BB:K in 342 plate appearances in 2024.
