    • Getting breather
Springer is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Springer will get his first true day off since June 18, yielding to Addison Barger in right field. After a slow start to 2024, Springer has begun to turn things around of late, going 14-for-30 with four home runs over his last nine games. Rotowire.com Today, 3:57 pm

    • Dominant in rehab outing
Snell (groin) struck out nine over five scoreless innings in his rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Sacramento. He allowed no hits and issued one walk.

Advice: Making his third rehab start with Sacramento since landing on the 15-day injured list June 3, Snell made quick work of the Reno lineup, needing just 67 pitches (46 strikes) to record 15 outs. Based on how well he performed in addition to increasing his workload, Snell should be ready to return from the IL next week to make his next start with the Giants. Snell should slot back into the rotation as soon as next Tuesday's series opener versus the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 9:53 am

    • Records fourth steal in win
Rooker went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a stolen base and a walk in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Rooker provided the only multi-hit effort of the night for the Athletics while swiping a bag to tie the career high of four stolen bases he'd set in 2023. The 29-year-old is on a week-plus tear at the plate, hitting .394 and generating four multi-hit tallies in his last nine games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:56 am

    • Lasts four innings in no-decision
Gallen did not factor into the decision in a win over the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The Dodgers put Gallen to task early, drawing 85 pitches out of the right-hander over four innings, with all three runs coming against him in his final frame. It marked Gallen's shortest outing of the season outside of his injury-shortened appearance May 30 against the Mets, and he's now allowed three runs in three of his last four starts (excluding May 30). It was also only the third time this season in which Gallen issued three walks. Rotowire.com Today, 7:12 am
    • Another three-hit performance
Witt went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Witt drove home Kansas City's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third inning before recording a hit in each of his next three trips to the plate, including a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the star shortstop's third multi-hit performance in his last four games, and he's now tallied at least one RBI in four straight. Witt is 6-for-11 (.545) through three games to start the month of July, and his .319 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind Steven Kwan (.367). • Zac Gallen lasts just four innings versus Dodgers
Zac Gallen allowed three runs over four innings Thursday in his start versus the Dodgers.

Advice: The results weren’t great, but Gallen’s velocity tonight was even better in his first start back from the IL; he averaged 95.9 mph on his fastball, up from 95.2 mph last time out and 92.9 mph in the 11 starts before he went on the IL. Because of the diminished velocity, we were a bit down on him before his hamstring injury. He seems like a better bet now, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:29 pm
    • Keeps rolling for eighth win
Ober (8-4) picked up the win Thursday against Detroit, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: All three runs scored by the Tigers came with two outs in the second inning after strike three to Zach McKinstry got past Ryan Jeffers and allowed McKinstry to reach first and extend the inning. Still, Ober managed to generate a fourth outing with at least eight Ks, all of which have been quality starts. Through 94 innings this year, Ober owns a 4.12 ERA and a 100:23 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox in Chicago next time out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 pm

    • Witt Jr. a triple shy of the cycle against Rays
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 14th of the season. He took Pete Fairbanks deep with a solo shot in the ninth inning. Witt Jr. remains one of the best hitters in fantasy this season. He’s hitting .319 with a .925 OPS and 58 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:53 pm

    • Brent Rooker has two hits, steals base in victory
Brent Rooker went 2-for-3 with an RBI and also stole a base on Thursday in the Athletics’ win over the Angels.

Advice: Rooker extended Oakland’s early lead with a run-scoring single in the third inning off Angels starter Roansy Contreras before picking up his fourth theft of the season later in the frame. The 29-year-old outfielder is in the midst of a strong season with an .880 OPS with 17 homers and four steals through 74 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:22 pm
