Draft would be tomorrow still... we would have to go with 8 teams, assuming that A League of His Own does not stay. I know that Tom couldn't make it and I had thought we were at 11, but it looks like someone else also could not make it.
I would propose an 8-man league with what we have, keep pay-in the same (without a deadline until closer to the week of the real opening or Aussie games on LS), and changing payout allocation (perhaps dropping the consolation/4th place spot too). It would be an intimate league and probably more competitive at that.... but it wouldn't be a "deep" league. To make up for lost teams we could add a starting CI and MI spots to our starting lineups, and a few bench spots as well. Deeper benches and 2 starting spots still would leave a deeper FA pool so we could cut down on the 100 moves a bit too and also lower the overall auction budget (but that might not even matter based on the fact we all have the same amount to begin, I'm not really sure).
This is the current state of things. Should we not be able to do tomorrow I don't think it's fair to drag this out with you guys, and don't view pushing the draft up too far as realistic. I am letting everyone know this now, but also saying that I am OK with running with 8 teams and changing a few minor things. It's a bummer, but I like the league for the competition and it might make it better this way. If not, it has been fun and thank you for letting me play and compete with you guys...you've all been fun to be in leagues with.
Thanks, no matter the case, for the good times and maybe we'll have one more year of 'em if you guys want to go crazy eights.... If not, I will issue refunds to those who paid, and I hold no ill will and have enjoyed the ride.
Thanks,
Nick Linden
