      Doval earned a save against the Cubs on Monday, striking out one batter in one perfect inning.

      Advice: San Francisco scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to take a one-run lead, and Doval entered in the bottom of the frame to try to slam the door on Chicago. He did so without much trouble, needing just 11 pitches to set down the side in order. The outing helped wash away the sour taste of Doval's outing one day earlier, when he allowed four runs over one-third of an inning in a non-save situation against the Angels.       Alvarez went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI in Monday's win against Texas.

      Advice: Alvarez singled and scored in the fifth inning before delivering RBI base hits in the sixth and eighth frames. He entered Monday's game in a 2-for-14 (.143) slump since returning from the injured list. Alvarez produced his first multi-hit game since April 11.       Nimmo went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Nimmo knocked RBI singles in the second and fifth innings but most of his damage came in the fourth inning when he ripped a two-run homer. It was his second straight three-hit game and fourth consecutive appearance with multiple hits. That hot streak has bumped Nimmo's OPS from .708 to .756.       Advice: Lindor wasted no time making an impact Monday; through two innings, he was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. He singled and scored again in the fourth inning before capping off his big day with an RBI double in the fifth. It was Lindor's third four-hit game of the year and first since May 30. Over his last 24 games, he's gone 33-for-98 (.337) with 15 extra-base hits and 18 runs scored. His season slash line is up to .242/.313/.432 through 319 plate appearances.       Advice: Nimmo is now 10-for-17 (.588) with six runs scored and seven RBI over his last four games. His average is up to .240 with a .756 OPS and 39 RBI on the season. It’s been a down season for Nimmo, a career .266 hitter, but he seems to be turning it around at the plate lately.

      Kikuchi (4-6) allowed five runs on seven hits over four innings Monday, striking out seven and taking a loss against Boston.

      Advice: Kikuchi was cursed by the long ball Monday, coughing up four solo shots in the first three innings. Tyler O'Neill accounted for two of them, including in the first inning when he went back-to-back with Rafael Devers. Kikuchi had allowed just four home runs over his previous six starts entering Monday and had not given up multiple long balls in any start this season. He's registered a 6.17 ERA over his last five starts, bumping his season ERA to 3.65 through 81.1 frames. Kikuchi's next start is projected to be in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:43 pm
       
    • Kikuchi allows five in loss to Red Sox Monday
      Yusei Kikuchi allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Red Sox on Monday.



      Advice: Kikuchi gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out seven. He had won his last two starts. Kikuchi was hit hard in this one as he allowed four home runs to the Red Sox. He’s now allowed 11 home runs on the season (1.22 HR/9). It was the second time in four June starts that Kikuchi allowed five runs. The 33-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians on the road this weekend.
