      Corbin Carroll hit two doubles while scoring twice in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Carroll was one of the few hitters who had any success against Erick Fedde and the White Sox bullpen, and he scored the only two runs in the contest for the D-Backs.     • Rebounds with win, quality start
      Morton (4-3) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.

      Advice: Morton had his swing-and-miss stuff working, racking up 22 whiffs among his 105 pitches. The veteran hurler fell behind by a run in the first inning but yielded only two hits while holding the Rays scoreless thereafter. This was a nice bounce-back for Morton after he surrendered five runs (four earned) over five innings against Washington in his previous start.     • Jared Jones allows six runs in loss to Rockies
      Jared Jones allowed six runs over his 4 2/3 innings while picking up a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.

      Advice: Jones was not great, and the Pittsburgh bullpen allowed 10 more runs to score in a 16-4 blowout loss to the Rockies. The right-hander gave up six hits, and he also walked four on a night where the command just wasn’t there for the 22-year-old. He still was able to strike out six, and his rookie campaign has certainly been a success even with a couple of so-so outings as of late.     • Charlie Morton has vintage performance in win
      Charlie Morton allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a win over the Rays on Saturday.

      Advice: Morton looked like his old self, striking out eight and walking two. He induced 22 whiffs on 49 swings for a ridiculous 45 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW.       Thomas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 4-0 win over the Marlins on Saturday.

      Advice: Thomas doubled and scored a run in the first inning then added a solo home run in the third. The home run was Thomas' second in as many days, and he now has a nine-game hit streak dating back to June 6.       Kwan went 3-for-4 in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Blue Jays.

      Advice: The Guardians only managed eight hits in total on the day, all singles, but Kwan still kept rolling from the leadoff spot. The 26-year-old has hit safely in 10 straight games since returning from a hamstring injury, batting an incredible .500 (19-for-38) over that stretch to push his slash line on the season to .386/.447/.538 with four homers, three steals, 16 RBI and 39 runs in 42 contests.       Muncy (oblique) is at least a week away from swinging a bat and doesn't have a timeline for return, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Muncy's recovery from a right oblique strain has been unexpectedly slow, and he doesn't seem particularly close to returning. The 33-year-old hasn't swung a bat in a few weeks and won't be cleared for swings for at least another week.       Advice: Kwan collected three hits on the day against the Blue Jays, knocking singles in the third, fifth, and eighth inning. He was stranded each time as the Guardians failed to bring a run in to score against Toronto.
