    • Roughed up in loss
Gore (4-5) took the loss Monday against the Mets, allowing six earned runs on seven hits and four walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Gore loaded the bases with one out in the fifth inning before departing, unfortunately reliever Dylan Floro allowed all three runners to score, adding three earned runs to Gore's stat line. Monday's outing was very uncharacteristic for the southpaw, who recorded a season-low two strikeouts and allowed more than two earned runs for the first time since April 19. After tonight's rough outing, the 25-year-old sports a 3.57 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched. Gore will look to rebound in his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend versus Atlanta. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 pm
    • Homers twice in loss
Gorman went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in a 7-4 loss to the Astros on Monday.

Advice: Gorman hit solo home runs off Justin Verlander in the first and fifth innings and added a walk in the third. Gorman has been on an absolute binge in his past 10 games, tallying five multi-hit efforts, six home runs and 12 RBI since May 21. On the season, Gorman is now slashing .230/.318/.294 and leads all second basemen in home runs with 13. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:01 pm

    • Gorman blasts two home runs Monday
Nolan Gorman went 2-for-3 with a walk and two solo home runs against the Astros on Monday.

Advice: The two home runs give Gorman 13 on the season. He’s now hit three home runs in his last two games. Gorman isn’t going to provide a good average. He’s hitting .230 and his career average is .230. Gorman can hit the stuffing out of the ball, though. He had 27 home runs in 119 games last year and is on pace to push for 30 home runs this year. • Avoids significant injury
Tucker has been diagnosed with a bruised right shin and X-rays on the area came back negative, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Tucker appeared to be in serious pain after fouling a ball off his shin during Monday's game against the Cardinals, but he seems to have escaped a significant injury. He'll be considered day-to-day and will likely be re-evaluated again Tuesday morning to determine his availability for the rest of the week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:26 pm

    • Kyle Tucker day-to-day with shin contusion
Kyle Tucker is day-to-day after being diagnosed with a right shin contusion.

Advice: X-rays were negative after Tucker fouled a pitch off his leg tonight. If he can’t go Tuesday, it increases the chances that Chas McCormick will get a start. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:26 pm

    • MacKenzie Gore allows six runs in loss to Mets
MacKenzie Gore was shelled for six runs over 4 1/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Mets.

Advice: Gore struggled to find the strike zone, and also failed to generate swinging strikes in this one, which turned out to be a pretty toxic combination. He wound up handing out a season-high four free passes and also surrendered seven hits, including a towering 420-foot solo shot to Mets rookie slugger Mark Vientos. He finished with a season-low two strikeouts in arguably his worst outing of the season. He’ll aim for better results his next time out on Saturday against the division-rival Braves. • Santander blasts 11th home run Monday
Anthony Santander went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Santander’s 11th of the season. His ISO is up to .228, which would be a career-high not including the shortened 2020 season. Santander is hitting just .228, but his .227 BABIP is well below his career .269 BABIP. His strikeout percentage is 18 percent, which is below his career 20 percent strikeout percentage. Santander’s power is still there and he’s just been unlucky with his average so far.

    • Kyle Tucker exits game with shin injury
Kyle Tucker left Monday’s game in the third inning after fouling a ball off his right shin.

Advice: Unfortunately, it got him just above the shin guard he wears on the leg. With any luck, this will just be a day-to-day injury for Tucker. Mauricio Dubón replaced him against the Cardinals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:24 pm

Tucker left Monday's game against the Cardinals after fouling a ball off his right shin, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Tucker was down in pain for a few minutes and did seemingly everything in his power to remain in the game, but he was ultimately removed. Mauricio Dubon entered the matchup to finish the at-bat. The extent of Tucker's injury is unclear at this time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:15 pm
