• Oneil Cruz hits fifth homer in last 15 games
Oneil Cruz went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer against the Mets on Monday.

Advice: Cruz has five homers in his last 15 games, and his current .747 OPS is his highest mark since mid-May. It seems like there’s probably still more to come here; Cruz is tied for 10th in the majors with 36 barrels, but he’s merely tied for 36th with his 14 homers. Rotoworld Monday, 1:19 pm

  • Slugs 14th homer
Cruz went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-2 win versus the Mets.

Advice: The Pittsburgh shortstop smashed a 431-foot, two-run blast off Christian Scott in the fourth inning to open the game's scoring. It marked Cruz's second homer of July, as he's batting .333 (8-for-24) with four runs scored and five RBI across seven games this month so far. Overall, the 25-year-old is slashing .247/.303/.444 with 40 runs scored and 41 RBI in 330 total plate appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:30 pm

  • Report: Cubs could trade Hoerner, Belly, and more
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Chicago Cubs “are preparing for a potential sale, with [Cody] Bellinger, Jameson Taillon and Nico Hoerner expected to draw interest.”

Advice: Nightengale also notes that the Cubs have not yet decided if they will sell at the deadline or not, but they are listening to offers for the three players listed above. Taillon is in the midst of a solid season despite not bringing a lot of strikeout value for fantasy and could see a boost with a better team context, while Nico Hoerner could see a boost to his fantasy stock as well if he is traded to a team that will let him steal more regularly. • Productive as in-game replacement
Moore entered Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays as a pinch runner in the eighth inning and remained in the game in left field, going 1-for-1 with a single and a stolen base.

Advice: Moore was able to leg out an infield single in the 10th inning and then was part of a double steal with Ryan Bliss, but the pair was ultimately stranded by a J.P. Crawford popup and Cal Raleigh flyout that ended the game. Moore had started the first two games of the series and three of the last four games overall, and Sunday marked his third straight game with a single. However, Moore hasn't been making as much impactful contact as usual lately, as he has just one extra-base hit (a triple), in his last 10 games. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:15 am

  • Records three hits Sunday
Urshela went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Urshela notched his first three-hit effort since June 11 as he helped lead the Tigers to victory. The veteran infielder is batting .249 for the season, which is a step back after he hit .299 for the Angels during an injury-shortened 2023 campaign. Urshela still has time to pick his average up, however, and he should stick in an everyday role as long as he's healthy, so his fantasy stock could increase down the stretch. • Delivers big blast Sunday
McKinstry went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and three total RBI in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: McKinstry delivered his third home run of the season in a surprisingly strong offensive performance. The utility player is still batting just .186 this season with a .550 OPS, and the two hits Sunday snapped an 0-for-14 streak over his last six games. McKinstry has some value to the Tigers due to his versatility, but that doesn't translate to a ton of fantasy value. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:53 pm

  • Beginning rehab assignment Tuesday
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol confirmed Sunday that Edman (wrist) remains on track to begin his minor-league rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Tuesday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Edman's surgically repaired right wrist apparently responded well to batting practice sessions in Springfield on Friday and Saturday, with the latter being a live session against rehabbing right-hander Riley O'Brien (forearm). Unless Edman experiences another setback with his wrist in the next day, he'll see his first game action of the season Tuesday. Edman will presumably remain on his rehab assignment throughout the week before the Cardinals reassess his status coming out of the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Sunday, 1:13 pm

  • Returning to bench Sunday
Hampson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Hampson picked up starts at second base and center field the past two games while the Royals faced off against a pair of lefties, going 0-for-7 with an RBI between those contests. The Royals should continue to open up regular playing time for the utility player versus left-handed pitching, but Hampson's opportunities to play against righties are expected to remain limited. • Getting afternoon off
Walls is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Walls will hit the bench for the series finale after he started each of the past three games while going 2-for-11 with a walk, an RBI and a run. Jose Caballero steps in for Walls at shortstop. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:25 am
