  • Lenyn Sosa homers, drives in three in blowout win
    Lenyn Sosa went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer to help the White Sox to a 9-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

    Advice: Sosa nearly doubled the lead for the White Sox with a three-run homer to make it 7-2 in the seventh. The 24-year-old also doubled and singled. There have been some flashes for Sosa thus far in 2024 — albeit inconsistent ones — and the three-hit game improves his slash to .250/.291/.392.   • Scott McGough works 2 1/3 as opener vs. White Sox
    Scott McGough allowed a run over 2 1/3 innings in a start against the White Sox on Saturday.

    Advice: McGough was essentially an opener for a bullpen day, but he ended up going deeper than the arms behind him. The right-hander struck out two while issuing one walk. There’s a good chance McGough works in a similar capacity next week against the Phillies, but there’ll be no reason for fantasy consideration. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm
     
  • Erick Fedde hurls six strong in victory over ARI
    Erick Fedde went six innings while allowing two runs to get a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

    Advice: Fedde did allow eight hits, but he didn’t put anyone on via walk while striking out six. The right-hander gave up runs in the first and fifth inning and he was able to avoid the big inning for another strong outing for the 31-year-old. The White Sox have been a disaster, but Fedde has been an absolute bright spot with a 3.09 ERA through 87 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled to take on the Tigers on Friday.   • Homers in loss
    Soto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Red Sox.

    Advice: Soto recently battled a forearm injury, and that may have been bothering him during an eight-game stretch without a homer. He also walked multiple times for the sixth time in 11 contests in June. The outfielder continues to put up superstar numbers with 18 homers, 55 RBI, 58 runs scored, four stolen bases and a .319/.435/.599 slash line over 70 games this season.   • Win streak snapped in Boston
    Rodon (9-3) allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Red Sox.

    Advice: Rodon had posted a quality start in each outing during his seven-game winning streak, but both impressive stretches were snapped Saturday. The Red Sox put up all five runs against Rodon during the first two innings, and the Yankees' offense wasn't able to muster a comeback. The southpaw still has a strong 3.28 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP and 81:23 K:BB through 85 innings over 15 starts this year.     Olson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run in a 9-2 win against Tampa Bay on Saturday.

    Advice: Olson was part of a big fifth inning for Atlanta, swatting the team's third and final homer in the frame. The first baseman extended his hitting streak to nine contests, a stretch during which he is batting .361 (13-for-26) with two home runs and five RBI.     Rafaela went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Yankees.

    Advice: This was Rafaela's third multi-hit effort over his last four games. He's gone eight contests without an RBI, though he also has just two extra-base hits in that span. The 23-year-old continues to trend in the right direction -- his .230 batting average is the highest mark he's achieved since April 7.     Jansen pitched 1.1 perfect innings to earn the save in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Yankees.

    Advice: Greg Weissert was shaky in the eighth inning, but Jansen was able to get the last out of the frame with runners on the corners. The Red Sox added some insurance in the bottom of the eighth, and Jansen slammed the door in the ninth. The right-hander is up to 11 saves this season, though he has picked up just two of them over four appearances in June.     Riley went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and two walks in Saturday's 9-2 victory against the Rays.

    Advice: Riley broke the game open in the seventh frame with his three-run shot to center field that gave Atlanta an 8-1 lead. It was the second straight contest with a long ball for the third baseman following a 23-game homerless stretch (and a 45-game span during which he went deep only once). Riley may finally be getting his power on track, but with just five long balls through 233 plate appearances, he'll be hard-pressed to reach 30 homers for the fourth straight season.
