    • Collects three hits
Paredes went 3-for-5 with a two-RBI double during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Paredes plated Josh Lowe and Randy Arozarena on a first-inning double to give the Rays an early lead. However, Tampa Bay wouldn't score again in the game, going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position outside of Paredes' double. The third baseman has generated multiple hits in five of his last 10 games and leads the Rays in home runs and RBI on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:48 pm

    • Mason Miller strikes out side for ninth save
Mason Miller struck out all three batters he faced Tuesday against the Rockies for his first save of the month.

Advice: Miller earned eight saves from Apr. 9-30, but the A’s hadn’t had any save situations for him since. Given that he also pitched Sunday, it’s possible he’ll now require Wednesday off. The A’s have allowed him to pitch on consecutive days twice, but they haven’t had him work three times in four days. That it’s a day game Wednesday doesn’t help. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:42 pm

    • Cristian Javier struggles in no-decision
Cristian Javier was removed after giving up four runs and eight hits in four innings Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Javier’s stuff was well off tonight; he averaged just 90.4 mph with his fastball, which was down 1.5 mph from his previous average this season. He wound up with just one strikeout and three walks. All things considered, he was lucky to give up just the four runs. Javier said afterwards that the decline in velocity was due to poor mechanics and not anything injury-related, so that’s probably good. He’ll face the Mariners next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:03 pm
    • Records two hits in return
Swanson (knee) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-3, 10-inning win over Atlanta.

Advice: Swanson was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday night and he made his return to the lineup Tuesday after missing two weeks. The shortstop hit the ground running against his former team, though he's been off to a slow start overall with just a .218 batting average across 38 games. Swanson should still see regular playing time moving forward despite his struggles, and he's talented enough to heat up in a hurry. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:10 pm
    • Elly De La Cruz has game’s only RBI in win
Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a win over the Padres on Tuesday.

Advice: The double accounted for the only RBI of the game, but it wasn’t particularly well hit at just 86 mph off the bat. It was just one of those nights where neither offense seemed to get anything going. The bigger news for De La Cruz was that he didn’t strike out on Tuesday after going 0-for-13 with eight strikeouts in the final three games of the Dodgers’ series. • Isaac Paredes drives in two on three-hit night
Isaac Paredes went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Paredes singled home two runs in the bottom of the first to give the Rays an early lead. Unfortunately, it would be the only two runs the Rays would score on the evening, as the lineup remained limited for much of the afternoon despite Paredes’ three-hit night. The veteran infielder has totaled 14 hits in his last 10 games and is hitting a solid .314 on the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm

    • Taking seat against southpaw
Julien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Julien will yield to Kyle Farmer at second base with lefty Patrick Corbin on the mound for the Nationals. Julien is 0-for-12 with five strikeouts since Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:31 am
    • Goes yard in win
Smith went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Smith hadn't homered since May 1, going 8-for-43 (.186) with two doubles and six RBI over the 13 games between long balls. That's a rare cold spell for the catcher, who is slashing .308/.381/.481 with five homers, 31 RBI, 26 runs scored and 12 doubles over 181 plate appearances. With Shohei Ohtani occupying the designated hitter spot, Smith has received routine days off this year, though he's still the primary catcher over backup Austin Barnes. • Worst start of season versus Angels
Valdez (3-2) allowed eight runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings to take the loss Monday versus the Angels.

Advice: Valdez followed up his start of seven shutout innings versus the Athletics with a dud Monday. He was doing fine until the Angels rallied for seven runs in the fifth, including three-run home runs by Nolan Schanuel and Logan O'Hoppe and a solo shot from Jo Adell. Valdez is now at a 4.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB through 41.2 innings over seven starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Seattle. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:34 pm
