      Ryan Helsley struck out two in a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Astros to record his major league-leading 20th save of the season.

      Advice: There haven’t been a ton of save opportunities recently for Helsley in recent weeks, with just five chances over the last two weeks. However, he’s converted 20 of his 21 save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.33 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 29/6 K/BB ratio across 27 innings (27 appearances).       Nick Pivetta allowed only one hit over seven innings Wednesday as the Red Sox shut out the Braves 9-0.

      Advice: Pivetta fanned nine and walked two in his longest outing of the year. In eight starts this season, he’s been great three times, good three times and bad twice, which probably should have produced something better than a 3-4 record.       Helsley struck out two without allowing a hit or a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

      Advice: A flyout allowed the initial runner to advance to third base, but Helsley struck out the next two batters to close this game. It was encouraging to see the 29-year-old have a dominant outing after allowing four runs over his previous three appearances. He's earned a save in eight straight outings despite his recent shakiness, and he still has a 2.42 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB over 26 innings while converting 19 of 20 save chances this season.       Lynn gave up four runs, all unearned, on three hits and two walks while striking out four over four-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies on Sunday.

      Advice: An error by the usually sure-handed Masyn Winn in the second inning ultimately allowed two runs to score. In the fifth, Lynn and catcher Ivan Herrera each committed an error as well, allowing the Phillies to generate another two runs. Since the Cardinals' defense let him down, Lynn will avoid any damage on his ERA, which is now at 3.23 on the year after this short outing. He's allowed at least four runs in four of his last six starts, which is the more concerning issue at hand. Lynn also has a poor 1.34 WHIP and 57:25 K:BB through 61.1 innings.       The Royals are hopeful that Wacha, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a small, non-displaced fracture in his left foot, will be able to rejoin the active roster in 3-to-4 weeks, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

      Advice: Though he's without an official timeline for a return, Wacha at least looks poised to avoid surgery to address the injury, which he sustained when he was hit by a line drive in the first inning of his start Friday against the Padres. According to MLB.com, Wacha will be able to play catch on a knee to help keep his arm conditioned, but a firmer target date won't come into focus until the soreness in his fractured foot subsides and he's able to put full weight on the leg when he throws.       Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander had to do some work, as Bryce Harper advanced to third base on a fly ball to start the inning, but Helsley battled back to strike out Cristian Pache and Nick Castellanos to leave the tying run stranded there.       Lance Lynn wasn’t at his best in Sunday night’s no-decision against the Phillies, surrendering four runs on three hits over his four-plus frames.

      Advice: The right-hander struck out four batters on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. The Phillies scratched out a pair of runs against him in the second inning on an RBI double by Garrett Stubbs and a ground ball by Johan Rojas. Lynn then allowed a two-run single to Stott in the fifth inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen. Lynn got nine swings and misses on 78 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 23 percent.       Advice: Wacha was seen using a walking boot Friday after being hit with a line drive during Friday’s start, and the Royals aren’t going to take any chances with the 32-year-old.
