    • Suffers right elbow contusion
The Cardinals announced that Arenado was removed in the top of the eighth inning of Wednesday's game against the Marlins due to a right elbow contusion.

Advice: Initial X-rays on Arenado's elbow appear to have revealed no structural damage, but he'll undergo further medical evaluation as the Cardinals look to ascertain that he's not dealing with anything more than a bruise. Before he was lifted from the game for a pitch runner after being hit in the elbow by a 94 mile-per-hour sinker during his fourth plate appearance of the day, Arenado went 2-for-3 with his first stolen base of the season and a run scored. • Cardinals say Arenado has right elbow contusion
The Cardinals said Nolan Arenado has a right elbow contusion after being hit by a pitch Wednesday.

Advice: That doesn’t mean much at this point, since he’s still undergoing tests. It certainly didn’t look good when it happened. Rotoworld 42 minutes ago
    • Leaves following HBP on elbow
Arenado was removed from Wednesday's game in Miami after being hit by a pitch on the right elbow, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. He went 2-for-3 with his first stolen base of the season and a run scored prior to exiting the game.

Advice: A Huascar Brazoban offering in the top of the eighth inning caught Arenado, who went down in a heap. He looked to be in considerable pain and eventually exited the field with a trainer. The Cardinals should have more on his condition shortly. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago
    • Mitch Keller spins seven scoreless frames vs. Reds
Mitch Keller struck out seven over seven scoreless innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Reds.

Advice: Keller traded zeroes with Reds ace Hunter Greene during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at PNC Park, limiting Cincinnati’s injury-depleted lineup to just two hits and a pair of walks over seven nearly-flawless frames. He generated only nine swinging strikes, but consistently filled up the strike zone, finishing with a robust 34 percent CSW. The 28-year-old righty has been impressive of late, surrendering three earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine outings since April 30. He’ll bring a pristine 3.11 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 85/24 K/BB ratio across 92 2/3 innings (15 starts) into a rematch on Tuesday against the Pirates at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park. • Nolan Arenado exits after taking pitch off right elbow
Nolan Arenado left Wednesday’s game against the Marlins after being hit on the right elbow by a pitch.

Advice: Arenado was still in a whole lot of pain and not moving his arm as he was helped off. José Fermín replaced him in the contest. If Arenado goes on the IL, Fermín would stand to benefit, but the Cardinals could also give Brandon Donovan more infield time. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago
    • Smacks homer Tuesday
Donovan went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Donovan has gone 15-for-51 (.294) over his last 13 games, adding two homers and seven RBI in that span. The 27-year-old got a rare start at third base Tuesday with Nolan Arenado taking a day off, though Donovan has found consistent playing time between left field and second base for much of the year. He's at a .247/.319/.380 slash line with six homers, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored and one stolen base over 67 games. Rotowire.com Today, 9:56 am

    • Knocks eighth homer Tuesday
Raley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Raley's 371-foot shot to left in the fifth inning extended the Mariners' lead to 6-1 while serving as his second homer in the last six games and fourth of June overall. The offseason arrival has followed up his career year with the Rays last season in reasonably good form, as he's now sporting a solid .258 average and .749 OPS across 62 games. • Hit hard in no-decision
Lynn came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins, coughing up six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Advice: The veteran right-hander got taken deep by Jesus Sanchez and Christian Bethancourt, the first time Lynn had served up multiple homers in an outing since April 4. He managed to complete five innings Tuesday for the first time in June, and on the month he's stumbled to a 6.11 ERA, 1.70 WHIOP and 20:7 K:BB through 17,2 innings over four starts. Lynn will look to turn things around in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home early next week against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 6:26 am
    • Lance Lynn has fourth straight rough start
Lance Lynn allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: Lynn may have allowed only three extra-base hits, but he allowed 14 hard-hit baseballs and had an average exit velocity allowed of 95 mph. This is now the fourth straight rough start for Lynn, who has not pitched more than 5 1/3 innings in any of those starts, allowing a combined 16 runs (12 earned) in 18 innings. He did get 10 whiffs on 27 swings with his fastball on Tuesday but none of his other pitchers were particularly effective. He now has a 4.08 ERA and finds himself with a much tougher start next week against the Braves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:46 pm
