    • Nabs third win
Anderson (3-1) struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the win over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: It didn't look like any Royals pitcher would be in line for the win after the Mariners put up seven runs in the first inning, but Anderson was the beneficiary of a late rally that ended in a walk-off. He's had mixed results since the start of May, allowing seven runs (six earned) with a 12:6 K:BB over his last 12.1 innings. For the year, Anderson has a 3.86 ERA despite a 1.63 WHIP and 17:12 K:BB across 23.1 innings while adding a save and two holds. The right-hander's numbers are far from elite, but he's done a moderate job at preventing runs for a bullpen that is 21st in the majors with a 4.21 ERA this year. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago
    • Picks up win over Rockies
Romero (3-1) struck out one and hit one batter in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the win over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: After his Monday meltdown versus the Astros, Romero has bounced back with a pair of scoreless outings. There's been little reason to worry about the southpaw this year, as he's pitched to a 1.97 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 32:4 K:BB over 32 innings. He's added 19 holds and two blown saves while operating in a setup role, often bridging to closer Ryan Helsley. Romero's impressive control has been fueled by his slider, which he's thrown 33.5 percent of the time. Opponents are batting just .048 off the pitch, which he's generated a 44.4 percent whiff rate on this year, per Statcast. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago

    • Tagged with loss Friday
Smith (3-1) allowed a run on three hits and struck out one over one inning, taking the loss versus the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: It was a rare hiccup for Smith, who gave up a run-scoring single to Jazz Chisholm in the eighth inning. This appearance ended Smith's 12-inning scoreless streak, during which he had a 14:1 K:BB. He's at a 1.82 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 39:7 K:BB over 29.2 innings with a save and six holds as he continues to grow into a high-leverage role as a rookie. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago

    • Blows save, takes loss
Stanek (3-1) blew the save and took the loss Friday against the Royals. He allowed three runs on two hits and three walks over two-thirds of an inning with no strikeouts.

Advice: Stanek entered the ninth with a two-run lead in place of Andres Munoz (back) and melted down in epic fashion. The 32-year-old righty struggled with his command, issuing three walks in an appearance for the first time this season en route to his second blown save. With the three-run outing, his ERA and WHIP rose to 4.56 and 1.35, respectively. Despite the ugly evening, Stanek is likely still in-line for Seattle saves provided that Munoz is unavailable. • Sharp in win
King (5-4) allowed four hits and one walk while striking out five over five scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: King wasn't all that efficient, needing 98 pitches (63 strikes) to get through five games, but that's the only knock on his performance. He's been excellent over his last three starts, allowing just two runs on 11 hits and four walks with 16 strikeouts over his last 17 innings. King is at a 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83:32 K:BB through 78 innings across 14 appearances (13 starts). The right-hander will look to keep it rolling in his next start, tentatively projected to come at home versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Today, 10:18 pm

    • Continuing rehab assignment
Bachman (shoulder) started a game for the Angels' Arizona Complex League team June 3 and is slated to throw three innings for the club Saturday, per MLB.com.

Advice: Bachman removed himself from a rehab outing May 30 due to neck stiffness, but he said he felt better the next day and was able to toss two innings June 3. That outing went well, as the right-hander didn't allow any runs or hits and struck out four batters. Bachman will look to increase his workload by an inning in his next appearance as he continues to build up following offseason shoulder surgery. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 pm

    • Secures 21st save
Helsley picked up the save in Friday's 8-5 victory over Colorado. He pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

Advice: Helsley handily retired all three batters faced in his third consecutive scoreless outing to gather his league-leading 21st save. The Cardinals closer has been stellar, suffering just one blown save in his 28 total appearances. Overall, the 29-year-old flamethrower sports a 2.25 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 31:6 K:BB in 28 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:02 pm

    • Camilo Doval perfect in earning save
Camilo Doval was perfect in the ninth for a save in a 5-2 game against the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Doval was pitching for the first time since giving up four runs in a blown save and a loss to the Yankees on Sunday. He definitely hasn’t been as effective as he was last year, in large part because he’s walked 17 in 24 1/3 innings, but he is 10-for-12 in save chances. Rotoworld Today, 9:38 pm
    • Michael Lorenzen lifted in fifth against Giants
Michael Lorenzen surrendered two runs in 4 1/3 innings versus the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Lorenzen left down 2-0, but the Rangers let him off the hook in the bottom of fifth before going to lose 5-2. It’s the first time in 10 starts this year that Lorenzen has failed to complete five innings and just the second time he hasn’t gone six. He might be booted out of the rotation at some point in the second half if the Rangers ever get completely healthy, but he’s been quite good thus far. Rotoworld Today, 9:38 pm
