      Advice: Machado has gone 14-for-38 (.368) over his last 10 contests, adding two homers and eight RBI in that span. The third baseman opened the scoring when he took MacKenzie Gore deep in the first inning Tuesday. Machado is still playing catch-up after a slow start to the campaign, but he's up to a .260/.314/.389 slash line with eight homers, 40 RBI, 34 runs scored and five stolen bases through 76 contests.       Spencer Steer went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Monday in the Reds’ lopsided win over the Pirates.

      Advice: It’s pretty remarkable that the Reds finished with 11 runs in this one considering they put three straight zeroes on the scoreboard to open the contest before Steer finally got Cincinnati on the board with a two-run double in the fourth inning.       Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that Jung (wrist) will be shut down for the weekend before he resumes taking live batting practice Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Bochy noted that Jung has experienced residual soreness in his surgically repaired right wrist since he rejoined the club Friday, but the Rangers don't seem to view it as a setback and simply opted to have him rest up over the weekend.
