    • Struggles with control Saturday
      Steele allowed five runs (one earned) on seven hits and four walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against Cincinnati on Saturday.

      Advice: Steele's fantasy stat line wasn't disastrous since only one of the five runs charged to him was earned, but he was far from sharp, especially in terms of control. The southpaw hit a batter in addition to issuing a season-high four walks, and he threw just 58 of 98 pitches for strikes. Steele is usually much better at limiting free passes -- before Saturday, he had issued only seven walks over six starts -- so this was likely just a bump in the road for him. He's been decent with a 4.10 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 37.1 innings this season but has yet to pick up a win. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:05 pm
       
    • Steele allows five runs in no-decision
      Justin Steele allowed five runs (one earned) in five innings and got a no-decision in the Cubs’ 7-5 victory over the Reds on Saturday.



      Advice: Steele gave up seven hits, walked four and struck out five. He seemed to be turning a corner with seven shutout innings in his last start, but this was a setback for Steele. Even though most of the runs were unearned, he’s now allowed at least five runs in four of his last five starts. Steele has completed six innings in only two of his seven starts this year. His ERA was mostly spared in this one and now sits at 4.10 for the season, but when you add it all up this isn’t a recipe for winning games right now. The 28-year-old left-hander will look to improve against the Reds on the road next week.

    • Willy Adames singles home game-winner in extras
      Willy Adames drove in three runs including the game-winner in the 10th to give the Brewers a 4-3 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Adames had three hits in the contest, and the biggest was a game-winning infield single off Michael Kopech in the bottom of the 10th. Adames has been an RBI machine throughout the year, and is already up to 42 on the season.     • Corey Seager reaches four times in rout of Marlins
      Corey Seager went 3-for-5 with a walk in a win for the Rangers over the Marlins on Saturday.

      Advice: Seager doubled, singled twice and got on via the aforementioned free pass for a four-reach day.     • Ozuna hits 17th home run in loss Saturday
      Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a home run and four RBI against the Athletics on Saturday.

      Advice: The home run was Ozuna’s 17th of the season. Only Aaron Judge, Kyle Tucker and Gunnar Henderson have more. Only Jose Ramirez has more than Ozuna’s 53 RBI this year.     • Ke’Bryan Hayes belts two-run homer in victory
      Ke’Bryan Hayes went 2-for-4 and belted a two-run homer on Saturday, powering the Pirates to a lopsided 8-1 victory over the Blue Jays in Toronto.

      Advice: Hayes put the exclamation point on a three-run first inning for the Pirates with his 404-foot (107.8 mph EV) two-run blast off of Yusei Kikuchi. That would be more than enough run support for Mitch Keller and company in this one. Hayes also led off the sixth inning with a single and scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jared Triolo.     • Mitch Keller fans eight in victory over Blue Jays
      Mitch Keller delivered a dominant performance in Saturday afternoon’s victory over the Blue Jays, racking up eight strikeouts over six innings of one-run baseball.

      Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits and one walk on the day. The lone tally against him came in the sixth inning as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled, advanced on a line drive and raced around to score on a two-out single by Dan Vogelbach. That’s really the only time that they threatened. Keller generated 10 swings and misses on 106 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 28 percent. Now 7-3 on the season, he’ll tote an impressive 3.42 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 66/20 K/B ratio (73 2/3 innings) into Friday’s showdown against the Twins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:01 pm
