    Candelario went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Friday's 6-5 win over the Brewers.

    Advice: Candelario belted a two-run home run in the fifth inning to help the Reds overcome a sloppy day in the field (five errors) and on the mound (eight walks). The home run was his third in the last two games and sixth during the month of June. After an inconsistent first two months, Candelario's bat is heating up this month.   • Salvador Perez exits Friday with knee discomfort
    Salvador Perez was removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort.

    Advice: Perez exited Friday’s contest in the eighth inning and told reporters afterwards that he felt a tweak in his right knee earlier in the game when he stood up quickly to catch a high fastball from Royals ace Cole Ragans. The 34-year-old ironman will presumably head for some additional testing and imaging to determine the severity of the issue if he’s not feeling better this weekend.     Jeimer Candelario delivered a two-run homer and a double Friday as the Reds edged the Brewers 6-5.

    Advice: Not a bad follow-up to his two-homer game Wednesday. Candelario has 12 homers, eight of which have come in his last 19 games. Those who weighed dropping him a few weeks ago have been rewarded for their patience. Rotoworld Friday, 10:25 pm
     
  • Removed with knee discomfort
    Perez was pulled from Friday's game against the Dodgers due to right knee discomfort.

    Advice: Perez hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give Kansas City a 3-0 lead, but his knee caused him to come out of the game during the eighth. It's unclear how severe the backstop's injury is, but the Royals should know more before Saturday's contest.     Cave received four stitches after being hit in the head by a line drive during pregame batting practice Friday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

    Advice: Although Cave had to be carted off the field following the incident, he said after Friday's game that he felt fine and that there isn't any reason to suspect he might have suffered a concussion. It's possible the Rockies will keep the 31-year-old outfielder sidelined for another game or two just to be safe, but a trip to the injured list doesn't seem likely.   • Anthony Santander smashes game-tying homer
    Anthony Santander went 2-for-5 with a solo home run against the Phillies on Friday.

    Advice: Santander’s eighth inning home run was the first Matt Strahm has allowed all season and just the first run he’s allowed at all since opening day. Then Santander put one to the warning track in the 10th inning which nearly won the game for Baltimore. Also, his first inning single was smoked 114.4 MPH - the hardest he’s ever hit a ball in his career. That’s a great sign for the power hitting switch-hitter moving forward.   • Jake Cave (head) scratched from Rockies’ lineup
    Jake Cave was scratched from the Rockies’ starting lineup on Friday after sustaining a “minor cut to his forehead” when he was hit in the side of the head by a line drive during batting practice.

    Advice: It sounds like he was fortunate to have avoided a more serious injury, but Rockies’ skipper Bud Black said he would provide another update on his status after Friday’s game.
