  • Luis Robert Jr. (hip) homers Tuesday at Triple-A
    Luis Robert Jr. (hip) belted a solo homer on Tuesday in a minor league rehab contest for Triple-A Charlotte.

    Advice: Robert made some noise right away in his first rehab contest at the Triple-A level with a towering blast in his first at-bat of the night. He finished 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scored. The 26-year-old fantasy stalwart will likely get a couple more rehab games under his belt before returning to Chicago, but he’s not far away at this juncture.   • Miguel Vargas connects for first homer in victory
    Miguel Vargas slugged a solo homer to lead the Dodgers to a 3-0 win in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Mets.

    Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has been reluctant to give Vargas opportunities so far as he made just his third start in this one since being summoned back on May 17 from Triple-A Oklahoma City. He connected for his first round-tripper of the season when he took Mets starter José Quintana deep in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old should probably get a longer look in Los Angeles, but it doesn’t sound like that’s in the cards at the moment, unless he’s going to force them to keep his bat in the lineup.   • Marcell Ozuna homers in win over Nationals
    Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

    Advice: Ozuna took Matt Barnes deep 413 feet at 107 mph off the bat to score the first run of the game. It was the only run the Braves would need. The home run was his 16th of the season to go along with 48 RBIs. With Ronald Acuna Jr hurt and Matt Olson and Austin Riley off to slower-than-normal starts, Ozuna’s performance has been crucial for Atlanta early in the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:07 pm
     
  • Joey Meneses has three hits in loss to Braves
    Joey Meneses went 3-for-3 in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

    Advice: All three of Meneses’ hits were singles, but the 32-year-old is now 10-for-32 (.313) over his last eight games with a home run and three RBI. However, he was also on the bench on Monday against a right-handed pitcher with Lane Thomas back off the injured list, so it’s possible Menses is entering into a weak-side platoon situation that would destroy his fantasy value.   • Miguel Andujar homers in win over Rays
    Miguel Andujar went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a win over the Rays on Tuesday.

    Advice: Andujar took a sixth-inning offering from Zack Littell and hit it out of the park for a three-run shot at 106 mph off the bat. It was his first home run of the 2024 season, but the 29-year-old has been regularly hitting in the middle of the order for Oakland since coming off the IL and has gone 4-for-12 with five RBIs in three games. He’s a career .271 hitter who hasn’t quite delivered on his early-career promise, but perhaps he can get on the deep-league fantasy radar now that he seems to have a full-time job.   • Rafael Devers has four hits in win over Orioles
    Rafael Devers went 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBI in an 8-3 win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

    Advice: It was a solid day at the plate for Devers, who had two hits over 104 mph and is now hitting .295 with seven home runs and 19 RBI in 25 games in May. It’s safe to say that he’s rebounded nicely from his slow start to the year, and the counting stats should continue to climb when the Red Sox are able to get Tyler O’Neill, Triston Casas, and Masataka Yoshida back in the lineup around Devers.   • Refsnyder has two hits, HR in win over Orioles
    Rob Refsnyder went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

    Advice: Refsnyder had a 102.2 mph double off of Grayson Rodriguez in the first inning and then clobbered a 419-foot home run in the ninth that left the bat at 105.1 mph. It was his second home run on the season, and he now has 13 RBI to go along with a .347/.437/.547 slash line in 87 plate appearances this season. With Tyler O’Neill visiting a specialist for his troublesome right knee, there is a chance that Refsnyder starts getting more regular at-bats for the Red Sox in the near future.   • Francisco Lindor goes deep in loss to Dodgers
    Francisco Lindor walloped a two-run homer in the Mets’ extra-inning loss to the Dodgers in the front-end of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

    Advice: Lindor’s two-run tater off Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow represented New York’s lone runs of the contest as they squandered a prime opportunity for a walk-off victory in the ninth inning by wasting a bases-loaded, one-out situation.
