• Kyle Tucker (shin) progresses to hitting again
Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking 30 swings off a batting tee earlier this week.

Advice: Tucker is close to resuming running again after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a right shin contusion. It’s a positive sign that he’s progressed to taking some swings again. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return, but he’s definitely going to need at least a brief minor league rehab assignment before rejoining Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Today, 4:46 pm

  • Manuel Margot drives in pair in blowout victory
Manuel Margot went 2-for-5 with two RBI in a victory over the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: He also scored twice in a game where Minnesota crossed the plate 13 times. Margot picked up his RBI with an infield single in the second and a sacrifice fly an inning later. The 29-year-old has been hitting at the top of the lineup against southpaws as of late, but his .238/.307/.325 slash shows he hasn’t really taken advantage of that slot. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 pm
  • Ketel Marte doubles and homers in loss to Twins
Ketel Marte homered and doubled in a blowout loss Thursday to the Twins.

Advice: Marte now has 17 homers on the season to go with 17 doubles. It’s been a fantastic season for the 30-year-old even in a shaky — to put it nicely — season for the Diamondbacks with those numbers along with 47 RBI and an .863 OPS. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 pm

  • Byron Buxton blasts bomb in blowout
Byron Buxton hit a three-run homer while going 3-for-4 in a 13-6 rout of the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Buxton also scored three runs. The three-run blast came off Scott McGough and gave Minnesota a 11-0 lead and it travelled 456 feet. The outfielder is starting to pick things up offensively, and he’s picked up three hits in two of his last three games while improving his slash to .261/.311/.449. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 pm
  • Sitting Thursday
Canha is absent from Thursday's lineup against the Angels.

Advice: Canha had started Detroit's last 22 games but hit only .211 in that span. He had a 15.9 percent strikeout rate in that span -- lessening the reason for concern -- though he'll still get a day of rest. Gio Urshela is sliding to first base, Matt Vierling to third, and Adkil Baddoo enters the lineup in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 4:40 pm

  • Expecting to play Friday
Correa (thumb) anticipates that he will be in the lineup Friday against the Mariners, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: Correa was hit in the hand by a pitch Thursday in the seventh inning and immediately left the game. X-rays came back clean, and he told reporters after the game that he's confident he'll be in the lineup to start the Twins' series against Seattle on Friday. There has not been confirmation from the team the Correa will start. Rotowire.com Today, 4:31 pm

  • Could be back Friday
Manager Aaron Boone said there's a "good chance" Torres returns to the lineup Friday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Advice: Torres has been out of the lineup Wednesday and Thursday after slumping both at the plate and with the glove of late. Boone did not commit to any specific plan, so it will be important to check the official lineup before Friday's 7:07 pm ET first pitch. Rotowire.com Today, 4:21 pm
  • X-rays negative
X-rays on Correa's right forearm/wrist came back negative after he was removed from Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Correa immediately made his way into the Twins' clubhouse after getting hit in the arm by a pitch during the seventh inning, but it appears he managed to escape the incident with minimal damage. The team has officially labeled his injury a right wrist contusion, and he is viewed as day-to-day. Should the Twins decide to give the 29-year-old a day or two to heal, Kyle Farmer would presumably be the next man up to start at shortstop. Rotowire.com Today, 3:40 pm

  • X-rays negative on Carlos Correa’s right wrist
X-rays came back negative on Carlos Correa’s right wrist.

Advice: It’s the best-case scenario outcome for Correa after he was drilled on the right forearm by a 94-mph fastball during Thursday’s blowout against the Diamondbacks. The 29-year-old shortstop is officially day-to-day with a right wrist contusion. It’s still possible he could wind up requiring a trip to the injured list in a few days, if the pain and swelling don’t subside. The Twins will most likely have top prospect Brooks Lee on their taxi squad for the next few days, just in case. Rotoworld Today, 3:33 pm
