• DFA'd by Tampa Bay
The Rays designated Ramirez for assignment on Friday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old began the season as Tampa Bay's primary designated hitter, though he recently had been relegated to the small side of a platoon. Ramirez has never offered much power but hit .306 in 242 games over the previous two seasons, and through 169 plate appearances in 2024 he's batting .268 with just four extra-base hits and a 1.8 percent walk rate. He could garner some interest on the waiver wire. Rotowire.com Today, 10:55 am

  • Homers in three-hit game Thursday
Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three total runs scored in an 11-7 victory versus the Pirates on Thursday.

Advice: Hernandez broke a 4-4 tie with a solo blast in the fifth inning, and Los Angeles never trailed again. The long ball snapped a 10-game stretch without a homer for the veteran outfielder, and after a hot start to the season, he's gone deep just twice over his past 23 contests. However, Hernandez still ranks second on the Dodgers with 13 homers and 39 RBI overall. Rotowire.com Today, 10:38 am
  • Reaches four times, homers
Betts went 2-for-4 with two walks, a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 11-7 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Betts' three-run blast capped off a six-run fifth inning for the Dodgers and plated Miguel Vargas and Austin Barnes. Prior to Thursday's outburst, Betts had gone 1-for-24 (.042) across six games. Despite the minor cold spell, he owns the ninth-best OPS in MLB at .923 with 10 homers and nine stolen bases. • Undergoes ACL surgery
Acuna underwent surgery Wednesday to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: The reigning NL MVP had already been ruled out for the season, but Acuna will now be able to begin rehabbing from the injury he suffered May 26. The 26-year-old underwent ACL surgery on his right knee in 2021, so he's familiar with the process. Acuna's injury that year happened in mid-July, not late May, and the difference could allow him to be ready for Opening Day in 2025. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am
  • Returns to action
O'Neill started at designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Thursday's 14-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: This was O'Neill's second game back after being reinstated from the injured list Wednesday. He played nine innings in right field Wednesday. The veteran outfielder hit safely in both games, going 4-for-7 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored. Given the blowout nature of Thursday's contest, Red Sox manager Alex Cora opted to pull O'Neill after six innings. Rotowire.com Today, 5:30 am
  • Bat showing life
Benson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Benson provided insurance for the Reds with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was the fourth consecutive game with a hit for Benson, who is 6-for-14 with a double, a triple, five RBI and three runs scored during that stretch. The steal was his ninth of the season, but his first in 22 games. The hit streak has raised Benson's batting average to .214, the highest it's been since April 30. Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 am

  • Doubles home go-ahead run
Friedl went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: In a back-and-forth affair, Friedl produced the go-ahead run in the sixth inning with a two-out double off lefty reliever Luke Little. The double extended Friedl's hit streak to five games, during which he's 6-for-19 with three extra-base hits, seven RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 4:33 am
  • Mookie Betts homers to lead Dodgers past Pirates
Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer on Thursday, powering the Dodgers to an 11-7 victory over the Pirates.

Advice: Betts capped off Los Angeles’ six-run explosion in the fifth inning with his 10th round-tripper of the season, taking Pirates reliever Ben Heller deep to center field. It was his second big fly in his last four games and first multi-hit effort since May 28. He also walked twice in this one. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar is batting .312/.411/.512 with 46 runs scored, 10 homers, 35 RBI and nine stolen bases through 292 plate appearances over 63 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:54 pm
