    • On track for Tuesday
Musgrove (elbow) is listed as the Padres' probable starter for Tuesday's game against the Reds, ESPN.com reports.

Advice: The veteran right-hander was originally expected to return from the injured list to start Sunday in Atlanta, but Yu Darvish is now pitching that contest following Saturday's postponement. Musgrove will return from elbow inflammation without going on a rehab assignment, so he could have some minor workload limitations in his first start back. Rotowire.com Today, 9:44 am
    • Joe Musgrove (triceps) likely to start Tuesday
Joe Musgrove (triceps) won’t be activated off the injured list Sunday.

Advice: Instead, Musgrove is likely to start Tuesday against the Reds. The right-hander was scheduled to come off the injured list Sunday from his triceps injury, but with Saturday’s game being postponed due to rain, the Padres will push back Musgrove’s return to the mound a couple of days. • Return date uncertain
Musgrove (elbow) is no longer slated to pitch Sunday, as the team pushed Yu Darvish back after Saturday's game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: Furthermore, the Padres are currently listing Dylan Cease and Randy Vasquez for Monday's doubleheader, so Tuesday may be the new target date for Musgrove. Manager Mike Shildt had previously indicated Musgrove would return Sunday, but that was before Saturday's rainout. Musgrove has struggled this season but appears on track to bypass a rehab assignment and return shortly after the minimum. Rotowire.com Today, 9:06 am
    • Set to rejoin rotation
Snell (thigh) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list and make his next start for the Giants, likely Wednesday against the Pirates, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The veteran left-hander made his second rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, and he's apparently ready to rejoin the Giants after he struck out 10 over five scoreless frames. Snell didn't give up a run across his two rehab outings, which is an encouraging development after he posted an 11.57 ERA in his first three MLB starts of the campaign after signing late in spring training. • Crumbles in fifth frame Saturday
Verlander (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Verlander made it through four innings without giving up a run, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, he put the first three batters on base via a single and two walks before allowing his first run on a sacrifice fly. Verlander got another out to nearly escape the jam without further damage, but William Contreras sent him to the showers with a three-run blast to center field. Verlander was coming off his best start of the season with seven scoreless innings against Detroit his last time out, though that was preceded by a seven-run, five-inning blowup against the Yankees his previous trip to the mound. He'll try to get back on the right track in his next appearance, which is tentatively lined up to take place in Oakland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm
    • Justin Verlander allows four in loss to Brewers
Justin Verlander gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings while receiving a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: Verlander has essentially alternated strong starts with poor ones since coming off the injured list, and this one goes on the ineffective side. The right-hander allowed four hits and two walks, and the big blow was a three-run homer allowed to William Contreras. He’ll be back on the mound Friday against the Athletics. • Fans career-high 14 in win
Gil (5-1) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 6-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out 14.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander set a new career high in Ks -- in fact, Gil had never struck out more than nine batters in a big-league start before. He generated an incredible 22 swinging strikes among his 98 pitches, and 40 combined called/swinging strikes, as he produced his fourth straight quality start and won his fifth straight decision. Gil is having a breakout campaign, and he'll take a 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 62:27 K:BB through 49 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners. • Not sharp versus Mets
Garrett took a no-decision Saturday against the Mets, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Garrett looked out of sorts from the jump, hitting two batters with pitches while allowing three hits and two runs in the first inning. He started to settle in a bit after that, but Garrett was pulled with the bases loaded and one out in the fifth and then watched all three inherited runners cross the plate. We've seen two straight duds from Garrett since he's come off the injured list. Better days are surely ahead, but it will be difficult for fantasy managers to trust him next week in Arizona. • Charged with five runs
Severino didn't factor into the decision Saturday in Miami, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks over 6.2 frames. He struck out three.

Advice: Severino had limited the Marlins to just two runs through six innings of work. He was sent back out for the seventh in a decision Mets manager Carlos Mendoza probably wishes he could have back. Severino gave up a walk, two hits and two runs in the frame before being pulled, and another run was added to his line when an inherited runner scored. In three May starts, Severino has an ugly 13:12 K:BB across 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:19 pm
