• DFA'd by Yankees
The Yankees designated Trammell for assignment Saturday.

Advice: Trammell will be pushed off the 40-man roster in order to create room for Jon Berti (groin) to return from the injured list. The 26-year-old Trammell has now been DFA'd more times (3) than he's reached base (2) this season, though it's possible he gets claimed off waivers once again by a team in need of outfield depth. • Tallies three hits Friday
Greene went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Greene was the only Detroit hitter to get anything going on Friday, as the team had just five hits overall. The outfielder could have had a bigger game if his teammates had come through, but he's still on a nice six-game hitting streak either way. During that span, Greene is batting a robust .435 with two home runs, four total runs scored and four RBI. It looks like the 23-year-old is primed for a big campaign. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

  • Expected to start Saturday
Hamilton is expected to start at second base Saturday, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Vaughn Grissom was activated Friday and made his season debut as the starting second baseman, but he'll be held out of the lineup for Saturday's afternoon game following a night game. Hamilton will be playing for the first time since April 27 and making his first start since April 25. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
  • Returns from IL
The Yankees reinstated Berti (groin) from the injured list Saturday.

Advice: Berti will return to the active roster after playing in three rehab games at Double-A Somerset, going 1-for-9 with three walks and a run scored while also stealing a base. His return gives New York additional depth at numerous positions and will cause Taylor Trammell to be designated for assignment in order to create a roster spot. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

  • Pitches well in no-decision
Olson tossed five scoreless innings but did not factor into the decision in Friday's game against the Yankees. He allowed two hits and two walks, while striking out five.

Advice: Olson was sharp against a strong New York lineup, but the Tigers couldn't provide enough run support in the eventual 2-1 loss. Olson has been dialed in over his last four starts, compiling a 1.54 ERA and striking out 25 batters across 23.1 innings, but he has an 0-3 record to show for it. The strong run has at least lowered his season ERA to a tidy 2.70. The righty will look to keep pitching well and hopefully get a bit more run support in his next appearance, which is tentatively set for Wednesday against the Guardians. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
  • Yankees designate Taylor Trammell for assignment
Yankees designated OF Taylor Trammell for assignment.

Advice: Trammell has been waived twice this year; once by the Mariners and once by the Dodgers. The outfielder is removed from the roster to make room for Jon Berti with Berti coming off the injured list. Trammell is still just 26 and a former top prospect, but there’s a good chance he’s playing for a new organization in the early portion of the week. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Yankees activate Berti (groin) off injured list
Yankees activated INF Jon Berti off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Berti is back to provide a bench option for the Yankees after missing three weeks with his left adductor strain. To make room, New York designated Taylor Trammell for assignment. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

  • Hitless in debut
Grissom started at second base and went 0-for-3 in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Twins.

Advice: Grissom made his season debut after spending the first month of the season on the injured list with a hamstring injury. Red Sox manager Alex Cora told Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe that Grissom would sit Saturday before returning to play second base Sunday. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
  • Implodes in Friday's loss
Alzolay (1-4) allowed three runs on four hits while retiring just a single batter to take the loss Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: Alzolay came on with one out in the eighth inning and promptly got into trouble, allowing a couple of quick singles before recording an out. The Brewers also ran freely on Alzolay, stealing three bases while he was on the mound. It's been a rough start to the season for the righty, as he's saddled with a 5.54 ERA and has been removed from the closer's role in favor of Hector Neris. Alzolay doesn't have a ton of fantasy appeal in his current form. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago
