    • William Contreras (head) available off bench
William Contreras is available to come off the bench Monday after leaving Sunday’s game with a head injury.

Advice: Contreras hasn’t had any concussion symptoms today, so the Brewers are confident that he’s going to be OK. They did have Gary Sánchez start behind the plate tonight, but Contreras is available to hit and play defense. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:20 pm
    • Available off bench
Contreras (head) is available to pinch-hit or enter the game defensively off the bench Monday versus the Angels, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Contreras will be forced to miss his second contest of the season after taking a shot to the head while applying the tag at home plate to finish Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds, but manager Pat Murphy said Monday that the catcher "is going to be fine." Contreras appears to have avoided any significant injury, which is music to the ears of fantasy managers who have reaped the benefits of his stellar play in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:09 pm
    • Not starting Monday
Contreras (head) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Contreras was evaluated for concussion following Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds after his head collided with Stuart Fairchild on a tag at home plate in the ninth inning. With Contreras out for the series opener Monday, Gary Sanchez will start behind home plate and bat eighth against Halos right-hander Jose Soriano. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:01 pm
    • William Contreras being evaluated for concussion
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Sunday’s victory over the Reds that William Contreras is being evaluated for a possible concussion.

Advice: Contreras took a glancing blow off of his head or neck on the final play of the game as Blake Perkins nailed the potential tying run at the plate to end the ballgame. The 26-year-old backstop remained on the ground for a few minutes afterwards, but ultimately was able to get up under his own power and was able to celebrate with his teammates. It doesn’t sound like anything serious, but fantasy managers may want to have an alternative option on hand for next week just to be on the safe side. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:43 pm
    • Being evaluated for concussion
Contreras is being evaluated for a concussion following Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Contreras took a shot to the head when he collided with Stuart Fairchild at home plate, applying the tag for the final out of the contest. The catcher was slow to get up, and he'll now undergo some additional testing to determine the severity of the injury. The Brewers will start a three-game series on the road against the Angels on Monday. If Contreras is forced to miss any action, Gary Sanchez would likely take over behind the plate. • Keibert Ruiz gets rare day off for Nationals
Keibert Ruiz is out of the Nationals lineup for the first time since June 1 in Thursday’s matinee against the Tigers.

Advice: Drew Millas will catch. Ruiz had DH’d twice in the last two weeks, but not today. While Ruiz did hit a huge three-run homer against the Braves on Sunday, he’s batting just .200/.236/.294 for the season. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:36 am

    • Getting rest Thursday
Ruiz is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: He'll be getting some rest for the Thursday afternoon contest after he caught all nine innings of Wednesday's 7-5 win while going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Drew Millas will get a turn behind the plate while Ruiz hits the bench. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:36 am

    • Homers, drives in four
Ruiz went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI Sunday against Atlanta.

Advice: Ruiz hammered a three-run blast in the fourth to give the Nationals a lead they would never relinquish. He later added a fourth RBI on a sac fly in the fifth that provided the Nationals with their eighth and final run of the contest. It was the fourth homer of the season for Ruiz to go along with 17 RBI and 16 runs as he's struggled to a .202 average through 163 at-bats. Rotowire.com Jun 9, 8:11 pm

    • Keibert Ruiz drives in four in win over ATL
Keibert Ruiz went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in a win over the Braves on Sunday.

Advice: With the Nationals up 1-0 in the fourth inning, Ruiz turned on an inside fastball from Hurston Waldrep crushing it 100.3 mph on a line for a three-run homer. It was Ruiz’s fourth home run of the season and a good reminder that he does have a bit of pop in his bat. The 25-year-old was off to a slow start in June, but had turned the corner in May after missing the start of the season with an illness. While his season-long stats don’t look great, but remains on the radar in one-catcher formats. Rotoworld Jun 9, 2:06 pm
