    • Jake Irvin lights out against Rockies
      Jake Irvin allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday.

      Advice: Irvin also struck out 10 and walked just one. His only blemish was a solo home run to Michael Toglia in the second inning. It was a tremendous effort for the 27-year-old in Coors Field, posting a 39 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. Irvin has let his curveball lead of late, which is a great decision since he commands the pitch well and he can also miss bats with it. He likely will remain a high-end streamer rather than a must-roster player, but that can still be valuable with offense down around the league. He should be started next week against the Rays.     • Outdueled in return
      Wacha (4-6) took the loss Saturday as the Royals were blanked 6-0 by the Rangers, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Making his first start in June after recovering from a foot fracture, Wacha was sharp over 74 pitches (52 strikes) but had no margin for error, and a Josh Smith solo shot in the fourth inning tagged him with the loss. The veteran right-hander has given up two earned runs or less in six straight outings dating back to May 9, posting a 2.55 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 30:11 K:BB through 35.1 innings over that stretch.     • Dealt third loss
      Burnes (8-3) allowed four runs on five hits and struck out five without walking a batter over seven innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Astros.

      Advice: Burnes had a solid outing, but a two-run home run by Yordan Alvarez and a solo shot by Chas McCormick were too much for the Orioles to overcome. This marks the first time all year Burnes has given up multiple homers in a start -- he's yielded just 10 long balls through 16 starts. While this wasn't his best work, he's still at an excellent 2.35 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 94:24 K:BB through 99.2 innings. Burnes is projected to make his next start at home versus the Rangers.     • Settles in to earn win
      Mikolas (6-6) earned the win against the Giants on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: Mikolas struggled early, allowing three runs in the first inning and another in the third. He bounced back with three perfect frames and departed with a 7-4 lead at the conclusion of the sixth. Mikolas broke a streak of five consecutive quality starts but was still able to earn his third victory in his past four starts. The 35-year-old now owns a 4.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 67:17 K:BB and lines up to face the Reds next week. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:50 pm

    • Wacha allows one in five innings in return from IL
      Michael Wacha allowed one run in five innings and took the loss against the Rangers on Saturday.

      Advice: Wacha gave up three hits, walked one and struck out five. It was a good return to the mound for Wacha, who was making his first start since missing three weeks with a fractured left foot. Unfortunately, the Royals couldn’t provide any offensive support and he was saddled with the loss. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Guardians at home next weekend.       Corbin Burnes gave up four runs over seven innings with five strikeouts in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

      Advice: Burnes gave up two homers in the loss, including a two-run homer by Yordan Alvarez. Outside of the roundtrippers the 29-year-old was mostly solid, but he was outdueled by Ronel Blanco as Baltimore dropped their second consecutive game in the three-game set.     • Miles Mikolas allows four runs in win over Giants
      Miles Mikolas gave up four runs over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Giants.

      Advice: Mikolas got in trouble right away in the opening frame when Jorge Soler and Michael Conforto delivered run-scoring singles as part of a three-run outburst. He managed to settle in afterwards, limiting San Francisco to just one run over his final five frames of work. He struck out three and only handed out a pair of free passes. He’ll bring an inflated 4.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 67/17 K/BB ratio across 90 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a home outing on Thursday against the Reds. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:01 pm

      Ray (elbow) will make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Ray pitched 1.2 innings during his most recent appearance in rookie ball, and he's slated to stretch out to three innings Sunday.
