    • Jhoan Durán throws hitless inning for save
Jhoan Durán worked a hitless ninth for his fifth save Friday against the Rangers.

Advice: After giving up runs in his previous three appearances, Duran had a pretty easy one tonight, though he did walk a batter. Duran had his worst fastball velocity of the season last time out, averaging 99.0 mph, but he was back up to 101.0 mph tonight, which is obviously good news. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:06 pm

    • Goes yard in win
Torres went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-0 win over the Padres.

Advice: Torres has gone 12-for-45 (.267) over his last 12 contests, adding three homers and eight RBI in that span. The second baseman started the year slow, but he's come around over the last couple of weeks while retaining a near-everyday role. For the season, he's slashing .221/.298/.318 with four homers, 15 RBI, 25 runs scored, seven doubles and four stolen bases over 219 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 pm
    • Secures fifth save
Duran allowed a walk and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning to earn a save over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Duran worked around a two-out walk to finish off the 3-2 win Friday. He'd been tagged with five runs over 2.2 innings over his previous three outings after beginning the year on a seven-inning scoreless streak. Friday's outing was his first scoreless appearance since May 12 and lowered his ERA to 4.22. alongside an 11:4 K:BB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:23 pm

    • Earns quality start in loss
Gallen (5-4) allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings to take loss versus the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: Gallen had his longest outing of the season and his fourth straight quality start, but the Diamondbacks couldn't get anything going as Miami starter Braxton Garrett tossed a shutout. Gallen has permitted more than three runs just once in 10 starts this season, pitching to a 3.12 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60:15 K:BB over 57.2 innings. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rangers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:21 pm

    • Gallen goes seven strong, but picks up loss
Zac Gallen went seven innings while allowing three runs Friday against the Marlins while picking up a loss.

Advice: Gallen allowed a two-run single in the second, and a solo homer to Jake Burger in the fourth. After that — and in-between — the right-hander was effective while walking just one and striking out five. He still picks up a loss with Arizona being dominated by Braxton Garrett while he was in the contest. Gallen takes a 3.12 ERA into a scheduled start against the Mets on Thursday. • Camilo Doval hangs on for ninth save
Camilo Doval worked around two hits and an error to earn the save on Friday over the Mets. He struck out one.

Advice: This was a treacherous ninth inning for Doval. The Mets rallied on him and then Marco Luciano butchered a tailor-made double play that would’ve ended the game. Then he intentionally walked Brandon Nimmo before punching out J.D. Martinez with a runner on third and one out. Then Matt Chapman made a herculean bare-handed play to end the game. He remains a super steady closing option despite this near collapse. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:28 pm
    • Kyle Harrison shaky in no-decision
Kyle Harrison allowed four earned runs across five innings on Friday against the Mets. He struck out six and walked two.

Advice: Harrison’s fastball was all over the place in this one and even hit Brandon Nimmo in the c-flap of his helmet. He still managed a fine outing despite plenty of traffic by the Mets and back-to-back home runs by J.D. Martinez and Mark Vientos. Harrison will take a 3.90 ERA into his next start against the streaking Phillies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm
    • Bobby Witt Jr. socks solo homer in win over Rays
Bobby Witt Jr. socked his eighth home run of the season on Friday, helping to power the Royals to a lopsided victory over the Rays.

Advice: The 23-year-old superstar crushed his 433-foot (107.5 mph EV) solo shot off of Tyler Alexander in the seventh inning — increasing the Royals’ lead to 7-1. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the night. He’s having another outstanding season across the board, slashing .305/.361/.557 with eight homers, 34 RBI and 16 stolen bases. • Bryce Harper ejected for arguing balls and strikes
Bryce Harper was ejected from Friday’s game against the Rockies in the first inning after arguing balls and strikes.

Advice: Harper went down swinging on three pitches in his first at-bat against Ty Blach and took exception to the second pitch that was called a strike. He’ll catch the rest of Friday’s game from the clubhouse. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:52 pm
