    • Ohtani won’t play second game of doubleheader
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Ohtani won’t start the second game of the doubleheader Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani will get a rare day off in the second game of the twin-billing. With the 29-year-old superstar out, the Dodgers will have Will Smith as the designated hitter and Austin Barnes will get the start behind the plate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:19 am

    • Tagged with loss Monday
Valdez (3-3) took the loss against Seattle on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over six innings.

Advice: Valdez looked to be in for a rough night after giving up three runs on four hits in the first inning, but he settled in from there and yielded just two hits and no runs the rest of the way. That allowed him to squeak by with a quality start, though he nonetheless ended with his second straight loss. Valdez gave up eight runs over five frames against the Angels in his previous appearance, so this was a decent bounce-back despite the difficult first inning. The left-hander tentatively lines up to face Minnesota at home in his next start. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:39 pm
    • Generates team's only run
Chisholm went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and a stolen base in a loss to the Padres on Monday.

Advice: Chisholm notched two of Miami's four hits in the contest and produced the team's only run with a third-inning solo shot. The center fielder added a swipe of third base in the eighth inning to give him 10 thefts on the campaign. Chisholm is working on a six-game hitting streak during which he's gone 9-for-23 with three doubles, two homers, three RBI and four runs. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:24 pm
    • Settles for no-decision Monday
King allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

Advice: King pitched very well in the outing, but San Diego wasn't able to put its second run on the board until the seventh frame, preventing him from picking up a second consecutive victory. The only run the right-hander allowed came on a third-inning homer by Jazz Chisholm. King has given up one or zero runs in three of his past five starts and has racked up a 34:8 K:BB across 30 innings over that span. He's tentatively slated to make his next start in Kansas City. • Framber Valdez turns in quality start in loss
Framber Valdez surrendered three runs in six innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Mariners.

Advice: All of the runs scored in the first, an inning that could have been much worse if Jake Meyers didn’t cover half of the outfield to chase down a Cal Raleigh fly with the bases loaded. Valdez still gave up four hits that inning, but he allowed just two more the rest of the way. Nevertheless, he still took the loss in a 3-2 game, leaving him 3-3 with a 4.34 ERA for the season. A home start against the Twins is up next. Rotoworld Monday, 9:31 pm
    • Chisholm Jr. homers, steals base Monday
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, a double, and a solo home run against the Padres on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Chisholm Jr.’s eighth and the stolen base was his 10th. He’s 27-for-95 (.284) in the month of May and his average is up to .265 on the season with a .792 OPS. Chisholm provided all of the offense for the Marlins as they lost to the Padres 2-1. Rotoworld Monday, 6:26 pm
    • King strikes out seven in no-decision Monday
Michael King allowed one run in five innings and got a no-decision in the Padres’ 2-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: King allowed three hits, one walk and struck out seven. He left the game with the score tied after five innings. King’s ERA is now 4.09 on the season. His 74 strikeouts this year rank among the top 10 in all of baseball. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road this weekend.

    • Fans eight in loss
Detmers (3-5) yielded three runs on four hits and four walks over five-plus innings Sunday, striking out eight and taking a loss against the Guardians.

Advice: Detmers gave up just two runs through five frames before he was charged with one more during Cleveland's three-run sixth inning. He generated 16 whiffs and has forced double-digit swinging strikes in eight of his 11 outings. Detmers started the year 3-0 with a 1.19 ERA through four starts; since then, he's gone 0-5 with an 8.59 ERA and has now failed to complete at least six innings in six consecutive appearances. Now carrying a 5.76 ERA, Detemers will look to snap the skid in his next start, which is projected to be in Seattle. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:56 am

    • Reid Detmers allows three runs in loss on Sunday
Reid Detmers allowed three runs on four hits over five innings in a loss to the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: After a nice start to the season, it just hasn’t come together for Detmers, who now has a 5.76 ERA on the year. He did strike out eight in this start but also walked four. Detmer’s early season breakthrough came in large part due to better four-seam fastball performance and that pitch got eight whiffs for a 38 percent whiff rate today. Overall, he had a 36 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW, so it was one of the more encouraging starts he’s had in a while. If he can get that four-seam to produce consistently, he could be a viable fantasy starter, but he will remain risky until then. He remains on the streamer radar against the Mariners next week.
