    • Nico Hoerner drives in two runs in loss to Cards
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Saturday night as the Cubs dropped a heartbreaker to the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Advice: Hoerner tied the game in the fourth inning with a two-run double off of Miles Mikolas. He then came around to score on a run-scoring knock off the bat of Michael Busch. With his two-hit night, the 27-year-old infielder is now hitting .263/.352/.380 with a pair of homers, 15 RBI and five stolen bases. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:17 pm

    • Resting Saturday
Grissom isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Grissom has gone just 1-for-18 across his last five contests, so he'll sit out Saturday in order to regroup. David Hamilton and Ceddanne Rafaela will make up Boston's middle infield while Grissom is on the bench. Rotowire.com Saturday, 12:44 pm

    • Walk-off hit in return
Hoerner went 1-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Advice: Hoerner had a relatively unimpressive return after missing over a week with a hamstring issue, but he made up for it with a one-out, walk-off single in the 10th inning. The infielder is slashing .267/.357/.385 with two home runs, 13 RBI, 25 runs scored and five stolen bases over 185 plate appearances. Hoerner's return will likely mean less playing time for Nick Madrigal moving forward, assuming Hoerner doesn't suffer a setback with his hamstring. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:31 pm

    • Elly De La Cruz has game’s only RBI in win
Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a win over the Padres on Tuesday.

Advice: The double accounted for the only RBI of the game, but it wasn’t particularly well hit at just 86 mph off the bat. It was just one of those nights where neither offense seemed to get anything going. The bigger news for De La Cruz was that he didn’t strike out on Tuesday after going 0-for-13 with eight strikeouts in the final three games of the Dodgers’ series. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:54 pm

    • Nico Hoerner back in lineup Tuesday vs. Braves
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Braves.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging development for fantasy managers as Hoerner is back at second base and batting sixth on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field following a six-game absence due to left hamstring tightness. The hope here is that he received enough time off to put the issue to bed completely. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:44 pm

    • Returning to lineup Tuesday
Hoerner (hamstring) will start at second base and bat sixth in Tuesday's game versus Atlanta.

Advice: Hoerner hasn't played in more than a week due to a left hamstring injury, but he's finally feeling well enough to give it a go Tuesday. Dansby Swanson is also back from an injured-list stint, so the Cubs will have their middle-infield duo back together for the first time since May 7. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:33 pm

    • Hitting bench Monday
Grissom is out of the lineup for Monday's game at Tampa Bay, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Grissom started the previous four games but will take a seat after going 2-for-15 during that stretch. David Hamilton will step in at the keystone and bat seventh in the series opener versus the Rays. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:11 pm

    • Vaughn Grissom gets a night off on Monday
Vaughn Grissom is not in the Red Sox lineup on Monday.

Advice: David Hamilton will play second base with Ceddanne Rafaela at shortstop. Grissom is off to a rough start to the year, but he’s played in just 13 games after losing 14 pounds while battling the flu. He has just a 20.8 percent strikeout rate and 11 hard-hit baseballs in 13 games but a .171 BABIP. It may take him a while to shake the rust and feel back to full strength, but he’ll be just fine. • Elly De La Cruz strikes out four times in loss
Elly De La Cruz went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in a loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.

Advice: After a tremendous first game of the series, De La Cruz finished the final three games against the Dodgers going 0-for-13 with eight strikeouts. He’s off to an absurd start to the season with 30 stolen bases and nine home runs in 47 games; however, he has started to give back some of his early plate discipline gains. De La Cruz now has 26 strikeouts to just five walks in May while going 14-for-65 at the plate for a .215 average. He’s an electric fantasy player and not somebody you’d ever take out of your lineup, but the 22-year-old remains a work in progress as far as his approach at the plate goes. While that gives him scary good upside, it also means that you should be ready for some prolonged cold streaks as well. Rotoworld May 19, 4:17 pm
