    • Completes extended bullpen session
Gray (groin) threw 40-to-50 pitches during a bullpen session Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reported Tuesday.

Advice: Gray will throw another bullpen session Wednesday, and if all goes well, manager Bruce Bochy said the right-hander could be an option to return from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday versus the Giants, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. Once Gray is reinstated, Jose Urena will likely be pushed out of the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 1:49 pm

    • Jon Gray (groin) throws bullpen session on Tuesday
Jon Gray (groin) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: Gray threw roughly 50 pitches in the side session and there should be some clarity on his next steps in the coming days. The 32-year-old righty hit the injured list last month with a right groin strain. Rotoworld Today, 1:47 pm

    • Out of Tuesday's lineup
Caballero is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Miami.

Advice: Caballero started the past four games but will head to the bench Tuesday after he went 4-for-15 with a homer, two RBI, five runs and a stolen base during that stretch. Amed Rosario will take over at shortstop and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 12:59 pm

    • Homers in two straight
Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-2 win over San Francisco.

Advice: Gurriel led off the second inning with a home run, his eighth of the season, to give Arizona an early lead. It was the second consecutive game in which he homered in his first plate appearance. The outfielder has a modest six-game hit streak, going 6-for-24 during that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 am
    • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hits 100th career homer in win
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit his 100th career homer Monday against the Giants.

Advice: Gurriel entered June in the midst of a six-week slump, but he’s now homered in back-to-back games to start the month. He’s certainly worth trying in leagues in which he was dropped. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:49 pm
    • Carlos Estévez perfect in ninth for save
Carlos Estévez threw a perfect ninth with a one-run lead for a save Monday against the Padres.

Advice: Following a pretty dreadful run in mid-May, Estévez has worked perfect innings in his last two appearances. Unfortunately, those were his only two appearances in the last 13 days, as the Angels simply aren’t a very good team right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm
    • Notches ninth save
Estevez struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning and earned a save over the Padres on Monday.

Advice: Estevez needed only 10 pitches to quickly finish off the 2-1 victory. He's given up one earned run over his last 6.1 innings, lowering his season ERA to 4.50 through 18 frames. Estevez has converted three straight save chances and is now nine for 12 in those situations this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:07 pm
    • Earns ninth save
Hader earned a save against the Cardinals on Monday, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Entering with a 7-4 lead in the ninth inning, Hader needed only 14 pitches to secure his ninth save of the season. Hader has only allowed one run over his past 11 appearances and is now 9-for-10 in save attempts in 2024. He currently owns a 3.54 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 45:10 K:BB in 28 innings. • Abbott strikes out six in gets fourth win Monday
Andrew Abbott allowed three runs in six innings and picked up the win in the Reds’ 13-3 victory over the Rockies on Monday.

Advice: The win was Abbott’s fourth of the season. He gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. Abbott now has a quality start in three of his last four starts and a win in three of his last five starts. His ERA is now 3.39 on the season, but his xFIP is significantly higher at 4.53. Abbott has a pedestrian 18 percent strikeout percentage and has benefited from an 84 percent left on base percentage that’s likely to catch up to him at some point. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Cubs at home this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:40 pm
