    • Bryse Wilson tagged for five runs by Rockies
Bryse Wilson gave up five runs in four innings Monday versus the Rockies.

Advice: The Brewers used an opener in front of Wilson tonight, and Rob Zastryzny worked a scoreless first before exiting. Wilson, though, didn’t benefit from coming in to start the second. His last five outings have seen him give up seven, zero, five, zero and five runs, so maybe he’s due for a good one next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Yields five runs in bulk role
Wilson did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 loss to the Rockies, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: After pitching to a 5.19 ERA across 26 innings in June, Wilson continued his run of poor performance in Coors Field. The Milwaukee right-hander allowed five or more runs for the third time in his last five appearances. He now sports a 4.27 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 62:28 K:BB over 78 innings this season. Things aren't going to get easier for Wilson, as he's currently scheduled to make his next outing versus the Dodgers in Los Angeles. It is currently unknown whether he will follow an opener again. • Nightengale: Rival execs say Alonso is staying put
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, rival team execs believe it’s more likely that Pete Alonso is not traded at the deadline.

Advice: Nightengale mentioned that “rival teams who have expressed interest” in Alonso are “convinced” he will “definitely stay put as long as the Mets are within five games of the wild-card race.” As of now, the Mets are just two games back and are 12-4 over their last 16 games. If the Mets do keep Alonso beyond the trade deadline, they will need to then decide how badly they want to extend him, but it would take one of the biggest power bats off the trade block this season. • Slated for bulk relief
Wilson will be used as a bulk reliever in Monday's game versus the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Brewers often use an opener ahead of Wilson, and Monday will be no different with reliever Rob Zastryzny slated to take the ball first. Wilson tossed six shutout frames in bulk relief his last time out Tuesday, picking up a win against the Rangers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 am

    • Crushed by Giants
Paxton (7-2) allowed nine runs on 12 hits and two walks over four innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Giants.

Advice: Paxton gave up four runs through three frames before the Giants piled on with a five-run fourth inning. The veteran southpaw had a very odd month of June; he gave up six earned runs in 1.2 innings against the Pirates on June 5 but allowed just two total runs over his next three outings before Sunday's unraveling. Overall, he posted a 6.46 ERA this month, raising his season mark to 4.28 through 15 starts. Paxton's next start is currently lined up to be at home against the Brewers. • Gunnar Henderson strikes out four times
Gunnar Henderson lost his 36-game on-base streak by striking out all four times up against the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: All four strikeouts came against Andrew Heaney. It’s his first golden sombrero since Oct. 1, 2022. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:15 pm

    • Gunnar Henderson to take part in Home Run Derby
Gunnar Henderson announced on ESPN that he will participate in this year’s Home Run Derby.

Advice: Henderson added that it’ll be the first time he’s participated in a competitive Derby. The 23-year-old shortstop is currently tied for second in the majors with 26 homers. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:47 pm

    • Big Maple gets lit up Sunday in loss to Giants
James Paxton was torched for nine runs on 12 hits over four innings on Sunday in a loss to the Giants.

Advice: Paxton gave up a couple early runs before the metaphorical wheels came off completely in the fourth inning when he was obliterated for five runs on four hits, including a two-run homer by Matt Chapman, and one free pass. The dozen hits allowed were a career-high for Paxton, who struck out four and handed out a pair of walks as well. The 35-year-old southpaw had allowed just two runs combined across 16 innings of work over his previous three starts dating back to June 11. He’ll attempt to right the ship when he faces the Brewers on Saturday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:34 pm

    • Continues to dominate
Bradley (3-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing no runs on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out 11.

Advice: Bradley held the Nationals off the board while matching a season high in strikeouts. Since allowing nine runs and four homers against Baltimore on June 1, Bradley has been on a heater, posting five-consecutive starts allowing two earned runs or fewer while accumulating double-digit strikeout totals during two of those outings. During that stretch, he's completed 29 innings, allowing just four earned runs (1.24 ERA) with a 1.00 WHIP and 40 strikeouts. He'll look to keep things rolling during his next start, tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Rays travel to Arlington to take on the Rangers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:32 pm
