    • Sitting Saturday
Cowser is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Cowser started in the series opener Friday, going 1-for-4 with three strikeouts. The lefty-hitting Cedric Mullins will start in center field Saturday and bat ninth against Rays right-hander Taj Bradley. Rotowire.com Today, 11:00 am

    • Getting rest Saturday
Springer is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Springer went 0-for-4 in the series opener Friday, and he has failed to register a hit over his last three games. The 34-year-old is slashing .202/.292/.305 with five home runs and 13 RBI over 243 plate appearances this season. With Springer out of Saturday's lineup, Daulton Varsho and Davis Schneider will occupy right and left field, respectively, while Spencer Horwitz makes his 2024 debut at second base against Oakland right-hander Luis Medina. • Colton Cowser sitting against righty on Saturday
Colton Cowser is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Cowser has posted some one the best hard-hit percentages of any rookie this season, but the Orioles overabundance of quality options has led to a decrease in playing time of late. The 24-year-old has started just four of Baltimore’s last seven contests for matchup reasons. It’ll be lefties Cedric Mullins in center field and Kyle Stowers in left field on Saturday afternoon with righty Kevin Gausman toeing the rubber for Toronto. Rotoworld Today, 9:52 am

    • Logs steal in win
Merrill went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: This was Merrill's first steal since May 14. Over the 20 contests between thefts, he hit a meager .224 (15-for-67) with no walks and just one extra-base hit. The 21-year-old still has a respectable .268/.303/.344 slash line with three home runs, 22 RBI, 24 runs scored and eight steals over 63 contests this year. Merrill has been benched against some left-handed pitchers recently, but he should have no trouble maintaining a majority of the playing time in center field over Jose Azocar. • Knocks three hits
De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's win over Cleveland.

Advice: De La Cruz put the Marlins on the board with his solo shot in the third inning and later smacked another extra-base hit. He's gone deep 11 times this season, though just two of those have come in his last 17 contests. He's slashing .252/.306/.427 with 21 extra-base hits and 28 RBI through 268 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:36 pm

    • Bryan De La Cruz homers, doubles in Marlins’ win
Bryan De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a homer and a double Friday to lead the Marlins to a 3-2 win over the Guardians.

Advice: De La Cruz’s hits all left his bat at over 102 mph. He’s batting .252/.306/.427 for the season, which is certainly good enough to keep him in the Marlins lineup but isn’t great for someone who has turned out to be a pretty bad left fielder (he’s currently DHing about two-thirds of the time). One imagines he’ll be one of the many Miami players available in trade talks next month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • George Springer is back to 5th in Blue Jays lineup
George Springer is moving back up the Blue Jays lineup, starting in right field and batting 5th against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Springer started the season as the lead-off hitter and was moved down as far as eighth in the order as he struggled to start the year. The veteran is now 11-for-40 (.275) over his last 12 games with two home runs, five RBI, and ten runs scored. There were no major red flags in his profile at the start of the season, so it seems likely that Springer can work his way back up to the top of the lineup. At 34 years old, he may be in the downward stage of his career, but he should retain enough value to be rostered in all formats. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:47 am

    • Cowser starts in CF over Mullins again for Orioles
Colton Cowser will start in center field and bat ninth for the Orioles on Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: With left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for the Blue Jays, the Orioles have opted to bench Cedric Mullins and let Cowser start in center field. It’s now the fourth time in the last six games that Cowser has started in center field, and the fact that both Cowser and Mullins hit left-handed suggests that Baltimore might have more confidence in the rookie right now. Austin Hays is also starting in left field for the fourth time in the last five games, including three games against right-handed pitchers. This has the makings of Cedric Mullins being moved to more of a bench role amidst his struggles. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:36 am

    • Exits starting lineup
Cowser is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Toronto.

Advice: Cowser has struggled over the last few weeks, producing a .431 OPS in his past 15 games. He'll be given a day off to regroup while Kyle Stowers starts in left field and Cedric Mullins covers center field. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:11 pm
