• Lifts homer in loss
Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Walker has gone 10-for-45 (.222) with two homers and eight RBI over 11 contests in June. The first baseman is up to 13 long balls, 42 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles, two stolen bases and a .255/.340/.458 slash line through 68 games this season. Walker's power is a bit down from the last two years, but that's at least partially due to bad luck -- entering Wednesday, he had a 50.0 percent hard-hit rate and a 15.1 percent barrel rate this season, up from 40.4 percent and 11.4 percent, respectively, in 2023. • Hit hard in loss
Cecconi (1-5) took the loss Wednesday versus the Angels, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and four strikeouts over three-plus innings. He did not walk a batter.

Advice: The lack of walks was about the only positive for Cecconi, who gave up a solo home run to Zach Neto and a three-run blast to Jo Adell in this lopsided loss. Cecconi has failed to complete five innings in each of his three starts in June, allowing 11 runs over 12 innings in that span. The right-hander is at a 6.70 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB through 44.1 innings over nine appearances (eight starts). Zac Gallen (hamstring) progressed to mound work Tuesday, but it's no guarantee at this point that Cecconi will remain in the rotation since he hasn't pitched well at the major-league level. • Records save No. 22
Helsley allowed one hit and struck out one batter over a scoreless inning to earn a save against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Helsley had a rough outing Tuesday against Pittsburgh, giving up two runs over one frame to take the loss. He was right back on the mound the next day and bounced back nicely, working around a leadoff single to finish off the victory. Helsley has converted 22 straight save chances since blowing a save in his first opportunity of the campaign, and the 22 saves overall leads all major-league pitchers. • Secures eighth victory
Gray (8-4) earned the win over Pittsburgh on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over seven innings.

Advice: After allowing the first two batters he faced in the outing to reach base, Gray retired the next 12 hitters to step up against him. The Pirates managed a fifth-inning run on a pair of hits, but that was the only tally they were able to push across the plate. Gray finished with his first quality start since May 3 -- a span of seven appearances -- and snapped a personal two-game losing streak. The right-hander allowed seven runs across 9.2 innings during that two-game stretch, but with Wednesday's excellent outing he improved his overall season ERA to 3.01. • Posts three-hit effort in win
Schanuel went 3-for-5 with a double and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schanuel went just 5-for-52 (.096) over 15 games since his last multi-hit effort. The first baseman is up to a .216/.282/.338 slash line with seven home runs, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 59 contests. His batting average hasn't been higher than .250 all year, but his iffy contact and lack of speed have yet to cost him the opportunity to regularly bat leadoff. Michael Stefanic got a look atop the order in the previous two games before sitting out Wednesday -- while Schanuel's spot in the lineup isn't in question he could drop the down order soon if he goes back to struggling at the plate. • Clubs homer in win
Adell went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Adell recently endured a 3-for-54 stretch over 17 games from May 21 to June 9. He's matched that number of hits over his last two games, going 3-for-8 as he starts to get his bat back on track in Arizona. The outfielder began the season in good form but fell off pace significantly in May, leaving him at a .198/.262/.441 slash line through 195 plate appearances. He's added 12 homers, 30 RBI, 27 runs scored and nine stolen bases this season, all of which are career highs for the 25-year-old. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:22 pm

  • Three hits in win
Neto went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, one additional RBI and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Neto hit a solo shot in the second inning and an RBI double in the sixth for his second multi-hit effort in June. The shortstop has gone 8-for-35 (.229) this month, though five of those hits have gone for extra bases, and he's added eight RBI over 10 contests. For the season, he's at a .250/.300/.424 slash line with eight homers, 26 RBI, 24 runs scored, eight stolen bases and 15 doubles through 240 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:19 pm
  • Kirby Yates holds on for ninth save vs. Dodgers
Kirby Yates allowed one run in the ninth inning for the save against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Yates was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a two-run lead. He put two runners on with a hit and a walk with two outs before Jason Hayward doubled to bring home a run. Andy Pages would be called out at home on the play to end the game. Yates picks up his ninth save of the season while posting a 1.16 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 29/11 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:12 pm
  • Jon Gray goes three innings in no-decision
Jon Gray allowed one run with three strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gray served up a solo homer to Shohei Ohtani in the first inning. He worked around a hit in the second and two baserunners in the third before his day was done after three innings at 65 pitches. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 2.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 63/19 K/BB ratio into a start against the Mets in Texas on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm
