• Cardinals-Tigers game postponed
Matz and the Cardinals will not play Monday after their contest against the Tigers was postponed due to inclement weather, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The game will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader Tuesday. Matz and Kenta Maeda had been slated to take the ball Monday but now should be pushed back to Tuesday. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

  • Touches 98 mph in live BP
Nationals manager Dave Martinez said that Cavalli (elbow) sat at 96 mph and touched 98 mph in a live batting practice session Monday, Spencer Nusbaum of the Washington Post reports.

Advice: Martinez came away impressed with how the right-hander looked, saying Cavalli threw the ball "really well." Cavalli would appear to be nearing a rehab assignment, although he might be asked to throw another live BP or two first. He's coming back from Tommy John surgery and could be an option for the Nationals' rotation by June. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Cade Cavalli throws ‘really well’ in live session
Nationals manager Dave Martinez told reporters that Cade Cavalli (elbow) threw “really well” in his live session Monday.

Advice: Cavalli got his fastball up to 98 mph while averaging 96 with the offering. The right-hander is expected to begin a rehab assignment in the middle of May, and it’s encouraging to see that the fastball has zip on it. If all things go to plan, Cavalli should be able to start games for the Nationals by the end of May. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Slated for season debut this week
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde confirmed Monday that Means (forearm) would rejoin the rotation this week for his season debut, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Hyde did not divulge which day Means will pitch, but he would be on regular rest Friday in Cincinnati. Means saved by far his best rehab start for last, as he struck out eight while allowing just one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday. The left-hander got his pitch count up to 95 in the outing, so he should be ready for a typical workload in his first start with the Orioles. Means is coming back from a left forearm strain. • Senga faces hitters, expects to return when eligible
Kodai Senga (shoulder) faced hitters Monday for the first time since February.

Advice: Senga told reporters that he expects to be able to return from the 60-day injured list when eligible, which would be May 27 in this case. The right-hander continues to make steady progress from the injury, and the next step will likely be a rehab assignment starting in the next week or so. Great news for fantasy managers who have remained patient with Senga in their injured list spot. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • MRI reveals left flexor muscle strain for Luzardo
An MRI revealed that Jesús Luzardo is dealing with a left flexor muscle strain.

Advice: Luzardo has been placed on the injured list due to left elbow tightness, but now there’s more specifics. The left-hander was able to play catch Monday,a and that along with no structural damage is good news. Assuming no setbacks, there’s a chance Luzardo will only miss a couple starts before returning in May. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

  • John Means, Kyle Bradish coming off IL this week
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that both John Means (elbow) and Kyle Bradish will come off the injured list this week.

Advice: The Orioles rotation is about to finally be at full strength. Means pitched well Sunday for Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday with the left-hander going seven scoreless innings that saw him allow just one hit. Bradish is believed to be the starter for Thursday’s game, and Means will get the chance to pitch over the weekend. Bradish offers a little more fantasy upside, but Means is worthy of roster consideration playing behind the loaded Baltimore offense. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago
