    Stroman (3-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Twins, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out two over six shutout innings.

    Advice: This was Stroman's second scoreless start of the season, as well as his third quality start. He entered Wednesday with nine runs allowed over his previous 15 innings across a three-start winless skid. The right-hander trimmed his ERA to 3.33 with a 1.42 WHIP and 42:25 K:BB over 48.2 innings through nine starts this season. Stroman's 4.6 BB/9 remains a concern -- it's by far the worst of his career, though his 7.8 K/9 is line with his career norms. Stroman is projected to make his next start at home versus the Mariners.   • Griffin Canning holds Cardinals to one run in win
    Griffin Canning tossed six innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts in a win over the Cardinals on Wednesday.

    Advice: Canning put together another excellent outing on Wednesday, holding the Cardinals to one run over six frames. The one run would score on a solo homer by Paul Goldschmidt in the sixth inning. Canning scattered four other hits and three walks while striking out five. The 28-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.21 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and a 34/18 K/BB ratio across 46 2/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Astros in Houston on Tuesday.   • No help in loss
    Lopez (4-3) allowed three runs on 10 hits while striking out three over 6.1 innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Yankees. He did not walk a batter.

    Advice: The 10 hits allowed were a season high for Lopez, who also received no run support in a 4-0 loss. He gave up a run in each of the first three innings before settling in to keep things relatively close. The Twins' ace is at a 3.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 58:8 K:BB through 50.1 innings over nine starts this season. Lopez is lined up for a more favorable road matchup versus the Nationals his next time out.   • Lance Lynn allows four runs in loss to Angels
    Lance Lynn allowed four runs with five strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Angels on Wednesday.

    Advice: The Angels got to Lynn in the first inning. He served up a leadoff homer to Nolan Schanuel before three hits and a wild pitch brought three more runs in to score in the opening frame. Lynn would settle in to toss four more scoreless innings before his day was done.   • Camilo Doval secures seventh save vs. Dodgers
    Camilo Doval struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

    Advice: Doval was summoned to close out the game with a three-run lead in the ninth. He struck out the first two batters, then walked Mookie Betts before giving up a base hit to Shohei Ohtani.   • Struggles in short start
    Morton (3-1) took the loss Wednesday versus the Cubs, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out four over three innings.

    Advice: Morton worked a high pitch count, needing 76 pitches (48 strikes) to get through three frames in his shortest outing of the season. He had pitched into the sixth inning in each of his other seven starts. The 40-year-old's poor start caused his ERA to balloon to 3.52 from 3.14, and he's sporting a 1.15 WHIP and 44:17 K:BB over 46 innings.   • Logan Webb shuts down Dodgers over six in win
    Logan Webb tossed sixth scoreless innings with five strikeouts in a win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.

    Advice: Webb worked around some trouble to start the game, loading the bases with one out in the first inning. He struck out a batter for the second out and escaped the jam with a line out to right field. Webb scattered two walks and two hits over five more scoreless frames, striking out five on the day. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 3.03 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and a 47/17 K/BB ratio across 59 1/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Pittsburgh next Wednesday.   • Elieser Hernández tosses quality start against Giants
    Elieser Hernández allowed three runs with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Giants on Wednesday.

    Advice: Hernández was solid in his first major league start since 2022, tossing a quality start in San Francisco. He surrendered a two-run homer to Mike Yastrzemski in the third inning, then gave up a run on a base hit and a double in the sixth. With no off days for another week, a second start could come next Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in Los Angeles. Otherwise, he’ll likely retreat to Triple-A to continue working as a starter.   • Struggles in spot start
    Lucchesi (0-1) took the loss against Philadelphia on Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 4.1 innings.

    Advice: It certainly wasn't an ideal matchup for Lucchesi to make his first start of the season, and he didn't do himself any favors in issuing four free passes. Three of the walks came in the fifth frame, and all three of the recipients came around to score. The left-hander was also tormented by Bryce Harper, who hit a solo homer against him in the first inning and then sent him to the showers with a two-run double in the fifth.
