• Late scratch Saturday
Moreno (undisclosed) was scratched from the Diamondbacks' lineup prior to Saturday's game against the Padres.

Advice: No word yet on why Moreno was taken out of the lineup, but the Diamondbacks will likely give an update on his status in the near future. In the meantime, Tucker Barnhart will catch for Ryne Nelson and bat ninth. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago

  • Matthew Boyd held showcase for 17 teams on Friday
Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that free agent left-hander Matthew Boyd held a showcase for 17 MLB teams in California on Friday.

Advice: The 33-year-old southpaw — who is now more than 11 months removed from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery — reportedly sat in the 92-93 mph range during his session on Saturday. Given how many teams around the league are in need of quality rotation depth, Boyd should at least be able to land a minor league pact someplace to add depth. Rotoworld Today, 1:10 pm

  • Idle Saturday
Perez isn't in the Tigers' lineup Saturday versus Milwaukee.

Advice: Perez has gone 0-for-11 at the plate across his last three games, and the Tigers will now give him a chance to regroup. Justyn-Henry Malloy, Riley Greene and Akil Baddoo will start across the outfield while Perez sits. Rotowire.com Today, 1:07 pm

  • Sitting down Saturday
Haniger isn't in the Mariners' lineup Saturday versus the Royals.

Advice: Haniger will get a breather Saturday after going 1-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored during Friday's loss. Mitch Garver will instead serve as Seattle's DH and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:04 pm
  • Orion Kerkering whiffs three in relief vs. Mets
Orion Kerkering struck out three over 1 1/3 innings on Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: Kerkering came on to strike out Francisco Lindor to end the sixth inning, stranding a pair of inherited runners in the process, before coming back out to work a flawless seventh inning as well. The 23-year-old righty opened the season on the injured list, but has been phenomenal since returning, posting a sublime 1.19 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 24/4 K/BB ratio across 22 2/3 innings (21 appearances). • Sean Manaea takes loss in London Series opener
Sean Manaea was blasted for six runs over 3 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Manaea drew the starting assignment for Saturday’s London Series opener against the division-rival Phillies and was unable to complete four frames. The wheels came off completely in the fourth inning when he gave up homers to Bryce Harper and Whit Merrifield in a disastrous six-run frame. He’ll bring a 4.30 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 60/25 K/BB ratio across 60 2/3 innings (12 starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Padres. Rotoworld Today, 1:03 pm

  • Adael Amador joins Rockies on taxi squad for now
MLB.com’s Thomas Harding reports Rockies top prospect Adael Amador has joined the club in St. Louis, but no decision has been made whether to officially recall him for his major-league debut.

Advice: Independent journalist Francys Romero reported earlier Saturday that Amador, who has homered six times over his last nine games for Double-A Hartford, was being called up for his debut. That’s on hold at least for the moment with Harding adding that the Rockies are waiting to determine whether Brendan Rodgers hamstring strain is severe enough to require a trip to the injured list. Amador has joined Colorado’s taxi squad, and it’s still possible he could be officially recalled in the coming days. However, for the moment, it doesn’t sound like his debut is imminent. We’ll have additional updates on the developing situation as it unfolds. Rotoworld Today, 12:50 pm

  • Officially promoted
The Marlins recalled Munoz from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday to start against the Guardians.

Advice: The 24-year-old righty will come up from the minors to fill the open rotation spot created by Sixto Sanchez's (shoulder) move to the injured list. Munoz has started three games for the Marlins already this year, posting a 5.17 ERA and 1.21 WHIP alongside a 19:7 K:BB through 15.2 innings. Until he is able to turn in consistent success in the majors, he is not a recommended fantasy option. Rotowire.com Today, 12:49 pm

  • Placed on IL
The Marlins placed Weathers on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left index finger strain.

Advice: Weathers' finger caused him to be pulled from his start Friday midway through the third inning. He'll now miss several starts as he heads to the IL, though the team has not yet offered any sort of return timeline for the 24-year-old lefty. Roddery Munoz was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move and will start Saturday versus Cleveland, though it's not immediately apparent who will fill the new opening in the Marlins' rotation.
