  • Dalbec blasts first home run of 2024 Saturday
    Bobby Dalbec went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run against the White Sox on Saturday.

    Advice: Dalbec’s home run was his first since last September. He hit 25 home runs in 133 games in 2021, but has had a rough go of it ever since while splitting time between MLB and Triple-A. Last year, Dalbec played first base, second base, third base and shortstop for Boston. He was in right field for the Red Sox on Saturday afternoon with Tyler O’Neill out. Dalbec’s hitting .159 in 28 games this year, though he’s reached base safely in eight of his last nine starts.   • Swipes fourth bag
    Hayes went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

    Advice: The third baseman is up to four steals on the season, and all of them have come in his last eight games. Hayes is also batting .323 (10-for-31) over that stretch with a homer, four RBI and six runs, and he seems fully recovered from the back issues that cost him most of May and which may have contributed to his .239/.317/.318 slash line in April.     Advice: Senzel extended the Nationals' lead to 4-0 with an RBI double in the fourth inning, his second two-bagger of the day, before blasting a two-run homer off Dylan Lee in the sixth. It's the first three-hit game of the year for Senzel, who'd gone 0-for-10 in his previous three contests. The 28-year-old Senzel is now slashing a solid .243/.352/.441 with six homers, 16 RBI and 18 runs scored across 43 games while holding down the regular third-base job in Washington.     Nick Senzel went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a walk to lead the Nationals to a 7-3 win over the Braves on Saturday.

    Advice: Senzel was perfect at the plate on Saturday, starting with a double to lead off the second. He’d come around to score on a base hit by CJ Abrams. Senzel then doubled in the fourth to plate bring a run in before launching a two-run homer off Dylan Lee in the sixth. He drew a walk in the eighth to reach in all four plate appearances.   • Manny Machado (hip) remains out of Padres lineup
    Manny Machado (hip) was held out of the Padres’ starting lineup for the third consecutive game on Saturday.

    Advice: Unlike the previous two days though, Machado did participate in a full pregame workout with the team, indicating that his return is imminent. He should once again be available off the bench if needed on Saturday.     The Tigers announced that Colt Keith was pulled from Saturday’s game against the Brewers due to left knee discomfort.

    Advice: The rookie second baseman collided with outfielder Akil Baddoo while both were chasing a pop up into shallow right field.   • Sitting out third straight
    Machado (hip) isn't in the Padres' lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: Machado will miss his third start in a row Saturday, although he was able to participate in pregame drills for the first time since straining his right hip flexor Wednesday, per Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune.     Advice: Keith and Akil Baddoo collided in right field while running at full speed, but Keith took most of the impact and was removed from the contest during the third inning. Considering Keith was able to walk off the field without any assistance, it seems like he's dealing with a minor injury. Still, the Tigers will likely continue to evaluate him throughout Saturday evening. Detroit will finish its three-game series against the Brewers on Sunday before having a team day off Monday.
