• Back in lineup Friday
Carter (back) is in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Carter has been available off the bench for the last two games against Los Angeles, but he will return to left field for the first time since May 8 as Texas finishes out its series. The lefty-batting outfielder is slashing .211/.301/.406 with 15 RBI and five home runs across 142 plate appearances so far this season. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

  • Notches second win Saturday
Stanek (2-0) got the win against the Orioles on Saturday, firing a scoreless two-thirds of an inning while recording a strikeout.

Advice: The hard-throwing reliever finished out the seventh inning after Gabe Speier had put two men on via a hit and a walk, retiring Adley Rutschman and Ryan O'Hearn via a strikeout and groundout, respectively, to preserve a 2-2 tie. Stanek eventually became the pitcher of record when the Mariners took a lead in the top of the eighth that held for the last two frames, giving him his second win of the campaign. The veteran right-hander pitched to an unsightly 9.00 ERA across the seven appearances he logged between April 25 and Monday, but he's now generated consecutive scoreless outings. • Remains out Sunday
Hoerner (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Make it six straight absences for Hoerner, who continues to nurse a sore left hamstring. He was still hoping to avoid the injured list as of Friday, but it's reasonable to think Hoerner to the IL could be the move to accommodate the return of Dansby Swanson (knee) on Tuesday. Nick Madrigal has been serving as the Cubs' primary second baseman in Hoerner's absence. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Kwan (hamstring) could begin rehab assignment soon
Guardians general manager Chris Antonetti told reporters Sunday that the hope is that Steven Kwan (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment in the next 7-10 days.

Advice: Kwan was able to take batting practice Friday and has reportedly made steady progress from the hamstring strain that has sidelined him since the middle of May. The outfielder will likely need to play a handful of MiLB games, but then could be back hitting at the top of the Cleveland lineup around the start of June. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out Sunday
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: Hoerner is going to miss a sixth straight game while recovering from tightness in his left hamstring. The 27-year-old is considered day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list can’t completely be ruled out. Nick Madrigal is the starting second baseman and will hit seventh against the Pirates on Sunday. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Likely to be activated Wednesday
Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Kahnle (shoulder) will likely be activated from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: After a rehab appearance Saturday, it appears Kahnle is moving in the right direction and could make his season debut this week. The 34-year-old finished out the 2023 season with a 2.66 ERA, along with a 48:19 K:BB and two saves across 40.2 innings. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Extends hitting streak Saturday
Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a run in a win over the Orioles on Saturday, extending his hitting streak to six games.

Advice: Much like his season as a whole, Rodriguez's night was a bit of a mixed bag, as he also struck out in his other three plate appearances. Nevertheless, the talented outfielder now boasts a .417 average (10-for-24) during his aforementioned six-game streak, although eight of those hits have been singles. Rodriguez's .269 season average is solid enough, but both his .318 on-base percentage and .330 slugging percentage are notably behind his career norms. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago
  • Evan Carter returns to lineup against Angels
Evan Carter (back) is hitting seventh and playing left field against the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Carter will be back in the lineup after missing over a week with a lower-back issue. The rookie has been up-and-down thus far in 2024, but has the talent to be a major fantasy contributor as long as he’s healthy enough to do so. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Gets break Sunday
Diaz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: The 25-year-old will cede catching duties to Victor Caratini as the Astros finish out their series against the Brewers. Diaz has started four of the last five games for Houston, going 3-for-18 with three RBI in that stretch. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago
