    • Cal Quantrill takes first loss since April 27
Cal Quantrill allowed four runs over 4 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Quantrill was saddled with his first loss since April 27 when Los Angeles got to him for nine hits during Saturday’s showdown at Dodger Stadium. He finished with only one strikeout and handed out a pair of free passes. The 29-year-old righty has unexpectedly excelled in his Rockies debut this season, but isn’t exactly a relevant fantasy option due to his lack of significant strikeout upside. There’s some streaming appeal away from Coors Field in deeper mixed leagues as he holds a respectable 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50/25 K/BB ratio across 68 innings (12 starts). He’s been a nice find for Colorado’s front office. He’ll square off against the Cardinals on Thursday at Busch Stadium in his next outing. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
    • Falls to Dodgers
Quantrill (4-4) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Dodgers.

Advice: Quantrill had logged five straight quality starts, but this was always going to be a tough matchup, even away from Coors Field. The Dodgers got to him for two runs in the second inning and never looked back. Quantrill has still put together a respectable first season with the Rockies, posting a 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50:25 K:BB over 68 innings across 12 starts. His 3.3 BB/9 is still a holdover concern from last year, and he'll never be one to strike out a lot of batters, but he's generally been reliable. Quantrill's next start is projected to be at St. Louis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
    • Records steal in win
Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Ohtani had gone seven games without a steal, and he hit just .167 (5-for-30) over that span. That's a rare cold spell for one of baseball's best players, who continues to do it all out of the No. 2 hole for the Dodgers. He's at a .326/.395/.604 slash line with 14 home runs, 14 steals, 38 RBI and 41 runs scored over 57 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:18 pm

    • Takes fifth loss
Kopech (1-5) allowed one run (none earned) on one hit and one walk while striking out two to take the loss Saturday against the Brewers.

Advice: Kopech entered the game in the 10th inning with the game tied at three. He intentionally walked the first batter he faced to put a pair of runners on base before throwing a wild pitch and allowing an infield single to take the loss. Kopech has had an inconsistent season, though he did turn in scoreless efforts in eight of his nine appearances in May. The White Sox haven't converted a save since May 15, but he should be considered the team's primary closer for the time being. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:02 pm
    • Throws 30 pitches
Marquez (elbow) threw a bullpen session of between 30 and 35 pitches Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marquez threw primarily fastballs but also mixed in some breaking balls. He'll now head to Arizona and is expected to appear in several Arizona Complex League contests before embarking on a more formal rehab assignment. Marquez remains on course to return just before the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:27 pm
    • Aiming for late June return
Freeland (elbow) threw a bullpen session Saturday and is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Freeland simulated the pace of a game, adhering to the pitch clock and between-inning breaks. Manager Bud Black also spoke to the media and suggested that Freeland is a minimum of three weeks away from being activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:20 pm

    • Throws bullpen session
Springs (elbow/lat) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Springs resumed throwing Thursday, but Saturday's activity marked his return to the mound. He threw primarily fastballs and changeups and will retake the mound Tuesday. If that goes well, the next step could be a rehab assignment. Unsurprisingly, the Rays are planning to be cautious with Springs, as he'll begin his rehab work by throwing only one inning while gradually building from there. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:58 pm
    • Solid in no-decision
Cecconi did not factor into the decision in Saturday's win over the Mets, allowing one run on five hits and no walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Cecconi was recalled from Triple-A Reno after Zac Gallen (hamstring) was placed on the injured list and looked sharp despite posting a 8.41 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in four May appearances. His only blemish was a solo home run by Mark Vientos to lead off the fifth inning, but he was pulled at 71 pitches and unable to qualify for the win. On the season, Ceconni now owns a 5.59 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB through 37 innings and should remain in the rotation as long as Zac Gallen is on the shelf. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm
    • Strikes out 10 in loss
Manaea (3-2) took the loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Manaea tossed two scoreless frames before Christian Walker hit a grand slam in the third inning and then surrendered two more runs and exited with two outs in the sixth . The 10 strikeouts were a season high for Manaea, and it was the first outing in which he has allowed more than three earned runs since April 13. Through 11 starts, Manaea has posted a 3.63 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 57:24 K:BB and tentatively lines up to face the Phillies next weekend in the London Series. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 pm
