    • Report: Astros to recall Joey Loperfido on Friday
KPRC 2 Houston’s Ari Alexander reports the Astros are recalling top prospect Joey Loperfido for Friday’s series opener against the Orioles.

Advice: No surprise here as the injury-depleted Astros find themselves desperate for some extra offensive firepower. The 25-year-old slugging prospect boasts big-time over-the-fence pop, but still has some strikeout issues to address. There might be a clearer path to regular at-bats at first base moving forward with veteran José Abreu no longer in the picture, but he doesn’t have a ton of experience at the cold corner. There’s some mixed-league fantasy potential here if he becomes a mainstay in Houston’s offensive nucleus, but that probably won’t happen overnight. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

    • Jordan Walker slugs another homer at Triple-A
Jordan Walker went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer on Thursday for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: The encouraging development here for fantasy managers is that Walker is finally starting to hit for some over-the-fence pop. The 22-year-old former top prospect has gone deep three times since June 1. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

    • Jhonkensy Noel plates two on Thursday at Triple-A
Guardians 1B/OF prospect Jhonkensy Noel went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI on Thursday for Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Noel’s stock slipped a bit last year as he struggled in the upper minors, but he’s really turned things around this year, cutting back on the strikeouts and still hitting for power. The 22-year-old slugger has 17 round-trippers in 62 games so far this season at Triple-A Columbus. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get a shot in Cleveland at some point later this year. • Clubs two homers
Brennan went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and a double Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Brennan cranked his first long ball off Luis Castillo in the second to tie the game, then blasted a second off Trent Thornton that provided the winning margin for the Guardians. It was the first career two-homer game for Brennan, who also sandwiched in a ground rule double in the fourth to give him three extra-base hits on the day. Brennan has caught fire of late as this was the fourth time he's had multiple hits in his last six games, giving him 10 hits in 24 at-bats (.417) with two homers, two doubles, four RBI and six runs scored during that timeframe. • Another multi-hit game
Mullins went 2-for-6 with a double, a two-run homer and three runs scored in Thursday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: Mullins capitalized on a hanging slider from Luis Gil in the top of the second and sent it into the stands in right field for a two-run shot, giving the Orioles an early 3-1 lead. The outfielder would then add a double in the ninth before coming around to score for a third time, giving him back-to-back multi-hit games. Mullins has also scored multiple runs in two straight contests, while Thursday's home run marked his first long ball since April 26 against the Athletics. Rotowire.com Today, 6:09 pm

    • Lifted with injury
Yastrzemski exited Thursday's game against the Cardinals due to left side tightness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Yastrzemski exited the game in the fourth inning and was seen departing the field with a trainer. It's unclear how the injury occurred or how long he may be sidelined. Austin Slater entered the game in Yastrzemski's place. Rotowire.com Today, 5:52 pm

    • Mike Yastrzemski exits early Thursday vs. Cards
Mike Yastrzemski was removed from Thursday’s game against the Cardinals with left side tightness.

Advice: Yastrzemski appeared to suffer some sort of side issue during the early stages of Thursday’s contest at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama, prior to leaving the game with a trainer in the fourth inning. He was 1-for-1 with a run scored before his early exit. There should be an additional update on his status following the contest. Rotoworld Today, 5:51 pm

    • Wilyer Abreu (ankle) set to return on Friday
Wilyer Abreu (ankle) is likely to return for Friday’s series opener against the Reds.

Advice: Abreu hammered a pair of solo homers on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Worcester and is expected to rejoin the club for the start of a series out in Cincinnati. The 24-year-old has been on the shelf since early June when he suffered a right ankle sprain when he slipped on the dugout steps. His return will provide a lift for the Red Sox, who are riding a five-game winning streak. Rotoworld Today, 5:37 pm

    • Angels outright Cole Tucker to Triple-A
Angels sent INF/OF Cole Tucker outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: Tucker batted .180/.263/.300 with three steals in 57 plate appearances over 24 games in a brief stint with the Angels and wound up going unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 27-year-old appears likely to stick around as extra organizational depth for now. Rotoworld Today, 5:26 pm
