• Battling knee issue
Manager Scott Servais said Friday that Kirby has been dealing with a right knee issue, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Servais added that Kirby's knee isn't considered a major problem, but it was the reason why he was pulled from his start Friday after throwing just 88 pitches through six innings. The Mariners will keep an eye on the right-hander's condition, but at the moment it appears Kirby should still be able to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Thursday against Minnesota. • Yields three runs
Blanco allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out six during the win over Seattle.

Advice: All the damage against Blanco came via the long ball, with Jorge Polanco going deep in the third inning followed by Dylan Moore in the fifth. Entering Friday's start, Blanco had given up just two homers through 32.2 frames. It was the first time this season he's allowed more than two runs in an outing but he did produce his fifth quality start. Blanco owns a terrific 2.09 ERA with a 36:16 K:BB. His next start is lined up to be on the road against the Yankees. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

  • Vidal steals two bags, doubles twice in loss
Vidal Bruján doubled twice and stole two bases in a loss to the Athletics on Friday.

Advice: Bruján drove in the only run of the game for the Marlins in the ninth with a double off Lucas Erceg. The pair of two-baggers with a single now have Bruján slashing .298/.377/.447, and the swipes are his first of the season. Especially with Luis Arraez heading to San Diego, Bruján should continue to see a lot of playing time, and so far he’s taken advantage of his run. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Brent Rooker swats homer as A’s top Marlins
Brent Rooker hit a two-run homer to help the A’s to a win Friday over the Marlins.

Advice: Rooker absolutely scorched a two-run blast off Ryan Weathers to center, with the ball travelling an estimated 440 feet. That’s the sixth-homer of the season for the right-hander, and he’s up to 15 RBI over the A’s first 32 games. The average (.211) and stolen bases (1) leave much to be desired, but Rooker can certainly provide some pop. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Erceg gives up run in four-out save vs. Marlins
Lucas Erceg gave up a run, but got the final four outs to get a save against the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: Erceg allowed an RBI double in the ninth to Vidal Bruján, but it came with the A’s leading by 3-1. The former hitting prospect struck out three and picked up his second save of the 2024 campaign. Erceg is a name to monitor because of his ability to miss bats, and even while allowing the run he still carries a very strong 1.93 ERA. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Ryan Weathers allows three in loss to A’s
Ryan Weathers gave up three runs in six innings of work to pick up a loss Friday to the Athletics.

Advice: The southpaw gave up five hits without issuing a walk, and he struck out five. Two of the runs came on a homer from Brent Rooker, and Weathers also allowed a run-scoring single in the fifth. Not a terrible start — by definition it’s a Quality one — but not terribly impressive, either. Weathers shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups for his start against the Dodgers on Wednesday. • JP Sears blanks Marlins over 6 1/3 to get win
JP Sears blanked the Marlins over 6 1/3 innings to get a win Friday.

Advice: The Athletics have now won five straight games. Sears allowed just four hits with a walk while striking out six. The left-hander did give up a pair of extra-base hits, but he was able to leave those runners at bay in one of his better starts of his young career. The 28-year-old gave up seven runs against the Orioles in his previous outing, but most of the damage was done late in that contest. Sears will take a 3.81 ERA into his bout against Texas on Wednesday. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Starting bullpen game Saturday
Bernardino will open Boston's game versus the Twins on Saturday, Jahmai Webster of NESN reports.

Advice: Bernardino has started the year very strong, allowing only one earned run across 12.1 innings. His start Saturday will likely only last an inning or two before the Red Sox turn to their bullpen to finish the game. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
  • Settles for no-decision
Kirby allowed a run on four hits over six innings during a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during the loss to Houston.

Advice: Kirby was in line for the win before Seattle's bullpen coughed up the lead. The lone run against him came via Jeremy Pena's RBI groundout in the sixth inning. Kirby was efficient Friday, throwing 60 of 88 pitches for strikes. He's allowed just one run while producing a stellar 22:2 K:BB over his last 18 frames. Of his seven starts this year, Kirby allowed two or fewer runs in five of them. However, he coughed up 13 combined runs in the other two. Kirby is currently projected to start in Minnesota next week.
