      Advice: Eovaldi needed 75 pitches (46 strikes) to get through three innings, and the Rangers weren't able to get him off the hook for the loss. It's possible the Rangers are still taking it easy on him after a groin injury sidelined him for much of May. Eovaldi has allowed nine runs over 18.2 innings across four starts since he returned from the injured list. He's at a 3.15 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 64:24 K:BB through 60 innings over 11 starts this season.       Randy Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Braves on Saturday.

      Advice: Arozarena was hitless until a 403-foot big fly in the ninth inning. It was his ninth of the season and just his 21st RBI all year. The 29-year-old also struck out once and is hitting just .175/.284/.325 on the year. While the overall numbers are bad, there are no glaring red flags to point to. He’s swinging and missing slightly more and is perhaps being a bit too passive this season, potentially leading to worse overall contact quality.     • Nathan Eovaldi goes just three in loss to Mariners
      Nathan Eovaldi lasted just three innings while allowing four runs with six strikeouts in a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

      Advice: Eovaldi needed 75 pitches to get through the three frames, and the Rangers called it a day for the 34-year-old after he completed that frame. he allowed four walks and allowed four hits, including a two-run homer to Julio Rodríguez. A rare off-night for Eovaldi, who still has a solid 3.15 ERA even with this disappointing — and not disastrous — effort. He’s scheduled to face the Royals next weekend.       J.D. Martinez went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in a 5-1 win over the Padres on Saturday.

      Advice: Martinez hit his first home run 391 feet off of Jhony Brito in the fourth inning and then followed that up with a 382-foot shot in the seventh. He now has eight home runs and 26 RBI in 43 games for the Mets so far this season.       Springer went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Guardians.

      Advice: It's the first time since May 29 that Springer has scored multiple runs. Consistent success at the plate continues to elude the veteran outfielder -- he's batting just .156 (7-for-45) in June with one homer, one steal, three RBI and six runs over 13 games.       Santander went 2-for-2 with two home runs and four RBI in a 6-2 win over the Phillies on Saturday.

      Advice: Santander tied the game on a solo home run in the fourth inning then gave the Orioles the lead on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. He later added a two-run homer in the eighth. Santander continued his June power binge, homering for the eighth time in 15 contests this month.       Rodriguez (8-2) earned the win against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings.

      Advice: Rodriguez allowed runs on an RBI double by Alec Bohm in the first inning and a solo home run by Edmundo Sosa in the second but rebounded with five scoreless frames to earn his third consecutive win. This was the first time Rodriguez completed seven innings in a start this season, but he has pitched into the sixth in all but two of his 12 starts so far.       Lange was removed from an appearance at Triple-A Toledo on Friday due to an upper-body injury, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

      Advice: Lange made the Tigers' Opening Day roster and owned a 4.34 ERA in 18.2 innings before being sent to Toledo, making Lange's injury a hit to Detroit's pitching depth. He signaled to the dugout immediately after throwing a pitch and was grabbing at his side.       Salvador Perez (knee) is not in the Royals’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s battle against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The star 34-year-old backstop was removed from Friday’s game due to discomfort in his right knee. He underwent an MRI exam on Saturday — the results of which were very favorable — and Perez is expected to return to the Royals’ lineup in a day or two.
