      Walker Buehler was charged with four runs (three earned) over three innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

      Advice: Buehler was staked to a four-run lead before taking the mound at PNC Park, but it vanished by the third inning of this one as he was tagged for seven hits, including a two-run homer by Nick Gonzales. It wasn’t completely his fault as the Dodgers committed a pair of errors and weren’t able to make a couple catches on balls that ended up going for hits and drove up his pitch count in the process. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty holds a lackluster 4.82 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 28 innings (six starts). He hasn’t quite returned to fantasy ace status yet, but it’s still early considering how much time he’s missed since undergoing his second Tommy John surgery.       According to The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude, Andrés Muñoz (back) is “determined to pitch through his back strain” and will likely avoid an IL stint.

      Advice: The Mariners’ closer has been pitching through the strain since the second game of the season, which may explain why he has had some “off nights” during the 2024 season. However, he has also pitched to a 1.73 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 26 innings, so it hasn’t been impacting him too much. “I’ve been here before,” said Munoz. “I’ve felt like this before, so I know we can manage that and be ready to go. ... Alvarez caught a combined no-hitter with High-A Brooklyn on Tuesday, and he's drawn praise from coaches for the work he's put in during his rehab assignment.
