    • Abrams steals ninth base, scores run in win Friday
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base against the Braves on Friday.

Advice: Abrams’ steal was his ninth of the season. After racking up 47 steals last year, fantasy managers sure would like to see him run more this year. The double was also nice to see as Abrams continues to hit better and for more power than most people expected when he was a prospect. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • Homers in loss
Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Abrams broke a scoreless tie in the sixth frame with his leadoff homer against Atlanta starter Reynaldo Lopez. The shortstop came into the contest having gone 1-for-21 over his previous seven games and recently missed time due to a shoulder issue, so the long ball was a much-needed positive development. Abrams reached 10 homers on the campaign with Thursday's blast, but he's slashing a meager .246/.293/.456 through 247 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:38 pm

    • Abrams blasts 10th home run Thursday
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Abrams’ 10th of the season. He had slumped and missed time with shoulder soreness last week, but seemed unbothered on Thursday. Abrams continues to show more power than he did last year as his .211 ISO is a lot better than the .167 ISO he had last year. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:13 pm

    • CJ Abrams returns to lineup Tuesday against Mets
CJ Abrams (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets.

Advice: Abrams is back at shortstop and leading off on Tuesday night at Nationals Park following a three-game absence due to shoulder soreness. The 23-year-old probably could’ve used a few days off since he’s been mired in a mini-slump at the dish recently. He’s been phenomenal overall this season with nine homers and eight steals through 53 contests. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:08 pm

    • Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Abrams (shoulder) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 23-year-old hasn't seen the field since Friday due to the shoulder issue but is back atop the lineup Tuesday for Washington. Abrams will look to get back on track now that he's healthy, as he went 0-for-14 with eight strikeouts in the three games preceding his absence. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:32 pm

    • CJ Abrams dealing with shoulder soreness on swings
CJ Abrams, out of the lineup for a third straight game Monday, said his shoulder is still bothering him when he swings but that it’s improving each day.

Advice: Abrams hurt the shoulder Friday, but it sounded like he would have played over the weekend if not for an illness he was also dealing with. That illness no longer seems to be a factor, but the shoulder remains a problem, keeping him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Monday, 3:41 pm

    • Remains out Monday
Abrams (shoulder) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Abrams reported improvement with his left shoulder Monday but still doesn't feel 100 percent when he's swinging a bat, per Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post. He'll miss out on a third consecutive start after he jammed the shoulder last week. With Abrams receiving more rest, Ildemaro Vargas will fill in at shortstop once again. • CJ Abrams (illness) remains out of lineup Monday
CJ Abrams (illness) remains out of the Nationals’ starting lineup for Monday night’s tilt against the Mets.

Advice: It’s the third consecutive contest that the dynamic 23-year-old shortstop has missed due to illness. He’s still considered day-to-day. Ildemaro Vargas will start in his place once again and will bat seventh against Tylor Megill and the Mets on Monday evening in Washington. Rotoworld Monday, 12:43 pm

    • Headed for MRI
Grissom, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right hamstring strain, is slated to undergo an MRI, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports. "We're not there yet," manager Alex Cora said, when asked about a timeline for Grissom's return. "He feels like it wasn't as bad as in spring training. But he's getting imaging so we'll know."

Advice: Grissom's upcoming MRI should shed light on the severity of the hamstring strain he sustained in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Tigers. As Cora notes, Grissom was previously slowed by a left groin/hamstring injury in spring training, which prevented the 23-year-old from making his Red Sox debut until May 3. For whatever length of time Grissom is sidelined this time around, Enmanuel Valdez is likely to serve as the Red Sox's primary second baseman against right-handed pitching, while Jamie Westbrook should be the main option at the keystone versus lefties.
