    • Sits versus lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Nationals.

Advice: Pederson's only start against a lefty this season came earlier this month versus a left-handed opener in the Giants' Erik Miller. With the Nationals sending southpaw Patrick Corbin to the bump Wednesday, Pederson will take a seat while Eugenio Suarez serves as Arizona's designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 8:53 am
    • Three hits in Tuesday's win
Pederson went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

Advice: All three knocks were singles, but it was still another busy night on the basepaths for Pederson, who also got hit by a pitch. The veteran slugger is batting .375 (12-for-32) over the last 10 games with two doubles, two homers, two steals, eight runs and 12 RBI as he takes advantage of a long stretch of right-handers being sent to the mound against the Diamondbacks. With Patrick Corbin and MacKenzie Gore set to start for Washington in the final two games of the series, however, Pederson figures to head to the bench despite his current form. • Falls short of quality start
Houck didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Toronto, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Houck ended up one out shy of a sixth consecutive quality start, getting pulled at 103 pitches after yielding an RBI single to Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Houck has struck out five or more batters in seven straight starts and owns a 4-2 record with a 2.17 ERA across 45.2 innings during that stretch. He's scheduled to close out a two-start week Sunday at Cincinnati. Rotowire.com Today, 5:03 am
    • Homers in four-hit effort
Doyle went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 11-9 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: The homer was Doyle's first since May 15, and it was also his first extra-base hit since June 3. While he hasn't hit for much power, the outfielder has been sharp at the plate and adds speed on the bases. He's up to a .274/.342/.407 slash line with six homers, 21 RBI, 43 runs scored, 18 stolen bases, 11 doubles and two triples through 69 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:39 pm
    • Yields four runs
Gomber allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: Despite the mediocre stat line, Gomber left the game with a lead before Tyler Kinley and Victor Vodnik unraveled in the ninth inning. This was Gomber's fifth straight start without a win, and he's allowed 20 runs over 25.2 innings in that span. The southpaw is at a 4.36 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 52:24 K:BB through 76.1 innings across 14 starts. He's been a little better at home with a 3.57 ERA through six starts at Coors Field compared to a 5.05 mark across his eight road outings, though he's trending in the wrong direction recently after a strong start to the campaign. • Walker Buehler (ineffective) could land on IL
The Dodgers are considering stashing Walker Buehler on the injured list after his poor performance at Coors Field against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: It appears this was being discussed even before Buehler gave up seven runs to Colorado, and now the Dodgers have a perfect excuse after Buehler was hit in the hip by a comebacker tonight. Buehler has a 5.84 ERA in eight starts since returning from Tommy John surgery, and the Dodgers are about to get Bobby Miller back from the IL, though he’ll be going into Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s slot. Landon Knack might be the choice to replace Buehler. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:31 pm

    • Stuck with first blown save
Suarez (4-1) took a blown save and the loss in a 4-3 defeat to the Phillies on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits in one-third of an inning.

Advice: Suarez coaxed a flyout from Trea Turner for the final out in the eighth inning before the right-hander surrendered four straight hits in the ninth, ultimately allowing two runs to take his first loss and blown save this season. Suarez had allowed just one run in his previous 27 innings coming into Tuesday. He still sports a stellar 1.21 ERA across 29.2 innings this year with a 0.81 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB while logging 17 saves. • Surrenders seven runs
Buehler allowed seven runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: Buehler has struggled at times this season since he returned from Tommy John surgery, and a trip to Coors Field did him no favors for getting on track. He's struck out three or fewer batters in each of his last three starts, and this was the third time this season he's given up multiple home runs in an outing. Buehler is at a 5.84 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB with 10 homers allowed over 37 innings across eight starts. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the White Sox, though Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports that Buehler took a comebacker off the hip in Tuesday's game, which has generated some concern from manager Dave Roberts. Roberts added that Buehler may require a stint on the injured list, stretching thin a rotation that's also missing Yoshinobu Yamamoto (shoulder) but that at least will get Bobby Miller (shoulder) back Wednesday. • Walker Buehler gives up seven runs to Rockies
Walker Buehler surrendered seven runs in four innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Rockies.

Advice: Sigh. Buehler’s velocity tonight was his worst since his rejoined the roster, and he got just three missed swings in his 70 pitches. That he was hit in the hip by a comebacker might have played some role in his struggles. We wouldn’t go dropping Buehler, who is still in a terrific situation with the Dodgers, but his early results in his first six weeks back from Tommy John definitely haven’t been as encouraging as hoped. He’s surrendered 10 homers and posted a 5.84 ERA in 37 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:20 pm
