    • Ryan McMahon reaches three times in loss
Ryan McMahon singled and drew a pair of walks as the Rockies were shut out by Gavin Stone and a host of Dodgers’ relievers on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Advice: As a team, the Rockies totaled just five hits in the contest, with only one of them (a double by Charlie Blackmon) going for extra bases. McMahon continues to have a terrific season in the middle of the Rockies’ lineup — slashing .284/.371/.470 with 10 homers and 34 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:12 pm

    • Austin Gomber lasts three innings in loss Sunday
Austin Gomber lasted just three innings in Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Dodgers, surrendering three runs on five hits and three walks.

Advice: The 30-year-old hurler punched out two batters in the ballgame. Most of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman each blasting solo homers in the opening inning. The Dodgers added another run in the third on an RBI single by Miguel Rojas. Gomber got just six swings and misses on 79 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 20 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings a 3.06 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 43/20 K/BB ratio (61 2/3 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Cardinals in St. Louis. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:12 pm
    • Surrenders two early homers
Gomber (1-3) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings, taking the loss versus the Dodgers on Sunday.

Advice: Gomber dealt with general arm soreness earlier in the week, which caused him to have a start skipped. It doesn't appear to be a lingering issue, but he struggled Sunday, allowing home runs to Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman in the first inning. Gomber ended up needing 79 pitches (46 strikes) to get through three frames. He had posted a quality start in each his last four outings before Sunday's short start. The southpaw is at a 3.06 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 43:20 K:BB over 61.2 innings across 11 starts. Gomber is projected for a road start versus the Cardinals his next time out. • Fernando Tatis Jr. drives in one in loss
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in a loss to the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Tatis Jr. gave the Padres a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning with a run-scoring single that should have been enough to close this one out. It was his 31st RBI of the season and while the 25-year-old hasn’t truly exploded at any point this year, he could easily finish the season with 30 home runs and 20 steals, which is impressive work. If he can keep his batting average around .270, he should still put up fringe first-round value even though he hasn’t stood out as an elite fantasy player at any stretch this season. • Out against righty Sunday
Gimenez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Gimenez took a seat Saturday against southpaw Mitchell Parker, but the lefty-hitting infielder will remain on the bench for the series finale versus the Nationals even while a right-hander (Jake Irvin) takes the bump for Washington. The Guardians may have just been looking to get an extended break for Gimenez, who had started in every game dating back to May 10 before his back-to-back absences. Daniel Schneemann was called up from Triple-A Columbus earlier Sunday and will pick up his first MLB start in place of Gimenez at the keystone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:33 am

    • Report: Royce Lewis likely back off IL Tuesday
Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports that Royce Lewis (quad) is likely to be activated off the injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Lewis is going to play third base Sunday during his rehab assignment for Triple-A St. Paul. The 24-year-old will then have a chance to return to the Minnesota lineup as long as everything goes well in that outing. Lewis has significant fantasy upside, and if he’s still on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues, he’s well worth roster consideration. Just keep in mind that injuries have been a major part of his storyline the last few seasons. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:59 am

    • Abrams scratched again Sunday against Guardians
CJ Abrams was scratched from Sunday’s lineup against the Guardians due to illness.

Advice: Never mind. Abrams was scratched Saturday due to illness, and the infielder was back in the lineup Sunday originally only to have the same thing occur. The infielder should be considered day-to-day. Ildemaro Vargas is starting at shortstop in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:54 am

    • Scratched again Sunday
Abrams (shoulder) was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Guardians, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Abrams was penciled in to start at shortstop and bat leadoff but has instead been scratched for the second straight game due to a jammed left shoulder. The 23-year-old should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus the Mets. Ildemaro Vargas will start at shortstop Sunday in place of Abrams. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 am

    • Expected back Tuesday
The Twins are expected to reinstate Lewis (quadricep) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener versus the Yankees, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lewis has been on the shelf since suffering a right quad strain in the Twins' March 28 season opener, but the standout infielder looks to be on the cusp of rejoining the big club. He began a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul on May 25 and has thus far made five starts in the minors, going 3-for-19 with a double, a stolen base and two runs. According to Park, Lewis is scheduled to start at third base for St. Paul in Sunday's game against Rochester, and if all goes well, the 24-year-old should get the green light to return from the IL. Once Lewis is activated, he'll likely take over as the Twins' everyday third baseman, pushing Jose Miranda into a bench role. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:27 am
