      Pivetta (4-5) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on seven hits and a walk over four-plus innings in a 9-2 loss to the Padres. He struck out four.

      Advice: The right-hander was cruising through four innings, but San Diego erupted for all nine of its runs in the fifth before Boston's pitching staff was able to secure an out. Pivetta served up a two-run homer to Kyle Higashioka to begin that offensive outburst, and he's been taken deep five times in his last three starts, stumbling to a 6.46 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over that stretch despite a 13:3 K:BB in 15.1 innings.       Michael Kopech pitched a hitless ninth inning against the Rockies for his seventh save Friday.

      Advice: Kopech has saves on back-to-back days after going nearly six weeks without one. It’s good to see, but it does mean he’ll be of Saturday, perhaps creating a save opportunity for Steven Wilson. John Brebbia has also pitched back-to-back days, so he probably won’t be an option.       Brenton Doyle went 2-for-4 with a homer and a steal versus the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: Doyle came into the night batting .235/.258/.284 in June and was one more bad game away seeing his OPS drop below .700, so this helps a bunch. He still shouldn’t be batting at the top of the Rockies order right now, but for as long it continues, he’ll be worth playing in mixed leagues, especially when the Rockies are at home.       Kopech earned the save in Friday's 5-3 win over the Rockies, pitching a scoreless inning and working around a walk.

      Advice: The 28-year-old entered the ninth with a two-run lead and looked to immediately be in danger as he opened with six-pitch walk to Ryan McMahon. However, Kopech induced two consecutive groudouts, including one of the double-play variety, to escape with just his second save in June. The Chicago right-hander lowered his season ERA to 4.46 over 34.1 innings as he appears to have seized control of the closer's role over John Brebbia for the time being.       Doyle went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a steal in Friday's 5-3 loss to the White Sox.

      Advice: The 26-year-old gave Colorado a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning when a launched a 426-foot, two-run homer off Drew Thorpe. Doyle later bagged his team-leading 19th stolen base, marking his fifth straight success since last being caught June 5. The Rockies' leadoff hitter hopes this performance spurs a hot streak, as he entered hitting .235 (19-for-81) with just two extra-base hits -- one homer and one double -- across 22 games in June.       Nick Pivetta surrendered five runs in four-plus innings Friday in a loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Pivetta pitched four scoreless innings, striking out four, before giving up four straight hits and a walk to begin the fifth. He was pulled at that point, and the Padres ended up scoring nine times in the frame. Pivetta has allowed 15 earned runs over 19 1/3 innings in his last four starts, taking his season ERA from 3.40 to 4.52.       Siri went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in a 3-1 win over the Nationals on Friday.

      Advice: Siri led off the second inning with a home run off Mitchell Parker, walked in the fourth and then opened the sixth with another long ball off Jacob Barnes. The outfielder now has eight multi-hit efforts and six home runs in June, though he has not stolen any bases in the month.       Jose Siri crushed a pair of solo home runs on Friday night, powering the Rays to a 3-1 victory over the Nationals.

      Advice: Siri opened the scoring in the contest in the second inning when he crushed a 405-foot (108.6 mph EV) leadoff homer off of Mitchell Parker. He then increased the Rays’ advantage with a 428-foot (107.1 mph EV) solo blast off of Jacob Barnes to start the sixth inning that made it a 3-0 ballgame. The dynamic 28-year-old outfielder also worked a walk in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-3. He’s now slashing .219/.300/.423 with 11 homers, 29 RBI and seven stolen bases on the season.
