    • Kimbrel picks up 14th save Friday
Craig Kimbrel tossed a clean ninth inning and picked up the save against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: The save was Kimbrel’s 14th of the season and came on the heels of him taking the loss in his last appearance against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. That wasn’t a save opportunity, though. The 36-year-old right-handed is now 7-for-7 in save opportunities since the end of April. Rotoworld Today, 6:47 pm
    • Short outing vs. Cleveland
Singer didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Guardians, allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits and a walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Singer's final line could've been much worse, as he matched a season high with nine hits allowed while failing to make it through four innings. Prior to Thursday, Singer hadn't allowed more than one earned run in five of his last six outings. Overall, the 27-year-old right-hander is 4-2 on the year with a 2.76 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 66:20 K:BB across 12 starts (65.1 innings) this season. Singer's currently in line for a home matchup with the Yankees in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:44 pm

    • Rebounds for 12th save
McArthur delivered a perfect ninth inning Thursday to earn the save in a 4-3 win over the Guardians.

Advice: It was an encouraging outing from McArthur, who allowed four runs without recording an out in his last save opportunity. However, he's now recorded back-to-back hitless innings in his subsequent two appearances. Overall, McArthur is 12-for-16 in save chances with a 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP despite an impressive 23:3 K:BB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:35 pm
    • James McArthur picks up save against Guardians
James McArthur was credited with a save Thursday while firing a scoreless ninth against the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: McArthur didn’t allow a hit, didn’t strike anyone out and didn’t issue a walk. It’s tough to do any of those things when you only throw 10 pitches, and seven of those went for strikes. McArthur has a couple of hiccups that have contributed to his 4.91 ERA, but he has been able to provide 12 saves to go with it. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:12 pm
    • Singer allows nine hits, two runs in no-decision
Brady Singer gave up nine hits and three runs — two earned — over 3 2/3 innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: Singer was making his first start since being unavailable due to illness. It didn’t go particularly well, as he needed 70 pitches to get 11 outs while allowing plenty of traffic throughout the contest. The 27-year-old still has a 2.76 ERA, and he has only given up more than two earned runs twice in his dozen starts. The Yankees are next, assuming Kansas City stays on scheduled with their rotation. • Handed loss Wednesday
Kimbrel (4-2) allowed an unearned run on two hits over one-third of an inning, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Isiah Kiner-Falefa delivered a walk-off single in the ninth inning to hand Kimbrel his first loss since April 28. This also ended Kimbrel's scoreless streak at 7.2 innings, though he hasn't given up an earned run since May 8. The closer has a 2.95 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 31:9 K:BB and 13 saves in 16 chances through 21.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:13 pm
    • Goes four innings in return
Eflin didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks across four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Eflin was activated from the 15-day IL for Wednesday's start and was yanked after 55 pitches. He was expected to be under a pitch count after being stretched out to only 40 pitches during his recovery from a back injury. The 30-year-old had to shake off a little rust, allowing all three hits and both runs in the first inning before retiring nine straight batters to close out the start. While Eflin will likely remain limited for the next few starts, he's worth a look in his next projected start, which is scheduled for Tuesday against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:41 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel takes loss to Blue Jays in ninth
Craig Kimbrel, who entered a tie game to start the bottom of the ninth, took a loss after giving up an unearned run Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: The unearned run was his own fault, as he threw the ball away on a pickoff attempt. The runners to reach against him both did so on singles, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s game-winning hit to right would have been caught if Kyle Stowers wasn’t playing shallow to prevent the sac fly with one out. It’s obviously a bad result, but since Kimbrel’s pitching wasn’t really the problem tonight, it’s unlikely to throw the closer’s role in Baltimore into chaos again. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:18 pm
    • Zach Eflin goes four innings in return from IL
Zach Eflin pitched well in his return from the injured list on Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits over four frames in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: Eflin struck out three batters on the evening and didn’t allow a base on balls. The Marlins scored a pair of two-out runs against him in the opening inning on an RBI double by Jesus Sanchez and an RBI single by Otto Lopez. He settled in nicely afterwards though and blanked the Fish over his final three innings. The 30-year-old hurler got five whiffs on 55 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of only 18 percent. He’ll tote a 4.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 47/4 K/BB ratio (63 innings) into Tuesday’s start against the Cubs. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:04 pm
