• Exits 40-man roster
Bowman was designated for assignment by the Twins on Tuesday.

Advice: Bowman loses his spot on the 26-man and 40-man rosters with the Twins needing to clear space for the return of Jhoan Duran. He pitched well in yielding just two runs with a 6:4 K:BB over 7.2 innings. The 32-year-old sinkerballer will now go through the waiver process. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago
  • Twins designate Matt Bowman for assignment
Twins designated RHP Matt Bowman for assignment.

Advice: The 32-year-old right-hander will hit waivers with the Twins activating Jhoan Duran from the injured list. Bowman made five appearances across 11 days and posted a solid 2.35 ERA and six strikeouts across 7 2/3 innings of work. It would be shocking if a team didn’t take a chance on the journeyman. • Reinstated Tuesday, as expected
The Twins activated Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Minnesota will finally have their closer healthy and available after Duran missed the first month of the season due to an oblique strain. The right-hander labored a bit during his first rehab outing, but he looked like himself during his second and final appearance Saturday as he averaged 101.8 mph with his fastball. Manager Rocco Baldelli hasn't officially indicated whether or not Duran will immediately slot back in as the Twins' closer, but he seems likely to get ninth-inning chances sooner than later. • Continuing running progression
Urshela (hamstring) will join the Tigers on their upcoming road trip as he continues his running progression, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: Urshela is also going through hitting and defensive drills on a daily basis as he ramps things back up. He's been out for the last week-and-a-half with a right hamstring strain but wouldn't appear far off from a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

  • Twins activate Jhoan Duran from IL
Twins activated Jhoan Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Duran will make his 2024 debut soon after he began the regular season on the injured list with an oblique injury. He was sent to Triple-A St. Paul for a rehab assignment over the weekend and it appears all went well and he’s been given the green light to return to the active roster. The 26-year-old finished with a career-high 27 saves and posted a 2.45 ERA across 62 2/3 innings last season. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
  • Nursing sore hamstring
Astros manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that McCormick is dealing with some hamstring soreness, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Houston has yet to post their lineup for Tuesday's matchup with Cleveland, but the 29-year-old outfielder doesn't seem likely to be included. Prospect Joey Loperfido is being called up for his first taste of the big leagues, and he'll see some run in the outfield with McCormick banged up, per Espada. McCormick's injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern, but he may be limited over the next few days. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Joins big club
The Royals recalled Selby from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Advice: The right-hander was acquired from the Pirates in early April and will now receive his first look with the Royals. Selby appeared in 21 games (five starts) for Pittsburgh last season and had a 9.00 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 30:15 K:BB across 24 innings. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

  • Activated from injured list
The Tigers activated Ibanez (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Ibanez wound up missing a little more than three weeks of action with a strained left hamstring. The utility player should see some starts for the Tigers against left-handed pitching. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago
