      Advice: Flaherty got tagged for a solo homer to lead off the bottom of the second before proceeding to strike out six of the next nine batters he faced. However, the right-hander would go on to surrender two more long balls on the night as the Tigers failed to back him with anything on offense. Flaherty had allowed one run or fewer in four consecutive starts coming in, and no runs in three of his previous four. The three home runs he gave up Thursday also marked a season high.       Burnes (9-3) earned the victory over Texas on Thursday, allowing one run on nine hits and no walks while striking out five batters over seven innings.

      Advice: The Orioles were up 3-0 after one inning and 6-0 after three, so Burnes didn't face much pressure in the outing. The right-hander did tie a season-worst mark in allowing nine hits, but only one of those -- a fourth-inning Adolis Garcia solo homer -- went for extra bases. Burnes recorded a quality start after snapping a 10-game streak of such performances in his previous outing. He's tied for the MLB lead in that category with 13 on the campaign and has posted excellent numbers in his first season as an Oriole with a 2.28 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 99:24 K:BB over 106.2 innings.       Advice: Garcia tied the game at one with an RBI triple in the sixth inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. Those were the only runs the Royals scored on the night, but it was enough to squeak out a 2-1 victory. Garcia needs to have more of an impact if he’s going to retain his spot atop the Kansas City lineup for the rest of the season. He’s hitting .232 with a .629 OPS on the season.       Rutschman had his right hand wrapped following Thursday's game against the Rangers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

      Advice: Rutschman had a ball tipped off his hand early in the game and remained in the lineup. He still managed to blast his 15th home run in the seventh inning, suggesting the injury isn't serious.       Corbin Burnes allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Orioles’ 11-2 victory over the Rangers on Monday.



      Advice: Burnes gave up nine hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was his ninth of the year. Burnes was on cruise control in this one. Despite the nine hits, he allowed just one run on a solo home run off the bat of Adolis Garcia. Burnes lowered his ERA to 2.28 in the process. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mariners on the road next week.
