      Castillo (6-7) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings to earn the win over the Rangers on Friday.

      Advice: Castillo received an extra day of rest after Emerson Hancock got a spot start in Thursday's series finale versus the White Sox. It looks like that was a good move, as Castillo was able to bounce back from his worst start of the year to earn his third quality start in his last four outings. The right-hander limited the Rangers' offense to the first inning, when he gave up both runs and three of the four hits on his line. Castillo is now at a 3.32 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 92:24 K:BB over 89.1 innings through 15 starts. He's projected for a challenging road matchup versus the Guardians next week.       Luis Castillo struck out seven after six innings of two-run baseball against the Rangers on Friday while picking up a win.

      Advice: Castillo scuffled in the first inning, allowing a pair of RBI singles. After that, the right-hander was excellent while keeping the Rangers off the board over the next five frames. The six strong innings see him lower his ERA on the campaign to 3.32 with a 92/24 K/BB. Castillo’s next chance to pitch is scheduled for Thursday against the Guardians in Cleveland.       Gerrit Cole delivered a dominant performance in his final minor league rehab start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday night, racking up 10 strikeouts over his 4 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Cole surrendered just an unearned run on two hits on the night and didn’t walk a batter. He threw 70 pitches — 46 of them for strikes.       Crochet allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out 13 batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Thursday.

      Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant in the outing, inducing 24 swinging strikes and finishing with a career-high 13 punchouts. The only run against the southpaw came via Tyler Locklear's first career homer in the fifth inning, and Crochet was in line for the victory before Michael Kopech blew a save opportunity in the ninth. Despite a few rough starts in April, Crochet has been a revelation for the White Sox and for fantasy managers this season. Over his past nine starts, he's recorded a 1.36 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 76:11 K:BB over 53 innings. Crochet is tied with Tyler Glasnow for the major-league lead with 116 punchouts on the campaign.       Garrett Crochet struck out 13 batters over seven innings of one-run baseball but didn’t pick up a decision Thursday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant while taking advantage of a team that strikes out at an enormous rate, so the results are equally impressive and not surprising. He did allow a solo homer to Tyler Locklear, but outside of that and a Victor Robles double, it was smooth sailing for the 24-year-old. The 13 punchouts are a season-high, but this is a hurler who has already fanned 116 batters in just-under 83 innings with a 3.16 ERA.       Nola (8-3) took the loss to the Red Sox on Thursday, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 3.2 innings.

      Advice: Nola had two disastrous innings, allowing four runs in both the second and fourth. The fourth inning was especially rough, as he surrendered a three-run homer to Tyler O'Neill and was unable to complete the frame. According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, the eight earned runs allowed by Nola tied a career high, and his season ERA climbed from 2.77 to 3.48. Despite the rise in ERA, Nola had previously rattled off five consecutive quality starts and owns a 1.08 WHIP and 78:24 K:BB in 14 outings.       Houck (7-5) earned the win against the Phillies on Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: He tossed three scoreless innings then loaded the bases and surrendered a three-run double to Kyle Schwarber in a rough fourth. Houck rebounded with two more scoreless frames to earn his fifth straight quality start and received plenty of offensive support, as the Red Sox tagged Aaron Nola for eight runs. Houck has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in 13 of 14 starts and has been one of baseball's biggest breakouts so far in 2024.       Tanner Houck allowed three runs in six innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 9-3 victory over the Phillies on Thursday.

      Advice: Houck gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was his seventh of the season. Houck has allowed more than three earned runs in a start only once in 14 starts this year. His ERA is now 2.08 on the season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays on the road next week.
