    • Rebounds in losing effort
Sale (8-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: It was a strong bounce-back effort from Sale after he surrendered eight runs against Oakland in his last start. However, Atlanta couldn't get on the board until the eighth inning in an eventual 2-1 defeat. Sale now has eight or more strikeouts in six of his last seven outings. His ERA sits at 3.01 with a 0.94 WHIP and 92:11 K:BB across 12 starts (74.2 innings) this year. Sale's currently in line for a road matchup with the Orioles in his next outing. • Leaves game with injury
O'Neill was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox due to an apparent knee injury, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill had been visibly bothered by his right knee for about an inning before eventually coming out of the game during the third frame. The 28-year-old outfielder recently spent time on the injured list due to inflammation in the same knee, so the Red Sox will surely take a close look at him and should provide an update on his status in the near future. • Blanks Atlanta
Irvin (4-5) earned the win Friday over Atlanta, allowing four hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Irvin has now thrown 14 scoreless innings in two starts against Atlanta this year, allowing just six hits while logging 14 strikeouts. The 27-year-old right-hander has now delivered four straight quality starts, pitching to a 1.47 ERA in that span. Irvin's lowered his ERA to 3.12 on the season with a 1.03 WHIP and 64:14 K:BB across 75 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Detroit. • Ryan allows two runs in loss Friday
Joe Ryan allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Pirates on Friday night.

Advice: Ryan gave up two hits, walked two and struck out eight. The runs against Ryan came on an Oneil Cruz solo home run and a sacrifice fly by Nick Gonzales. He pitched well but didn’t get any run support from the Twins lineup. Ryan had won three of his last five previous starts. His ERA is now 3.30 on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies at home next week.

    • Astros place Kyle Tucker (shin) on 10-day IL
Astros placed OF Kyle Tucker on the 10-day injured list with a right shin contusion.

Advice: Tucker has been unable to play since leaving Monday’s game with a bruise on his left shin, and the Astros will place him on the injured list rather than play shorthanded. There’s no current timetable for when the 27-year-old can return, but fantasy managers will have to be without one of the best outfielders in baseball for at least a week. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

    • Battling finger soreness
Weathers was removed from Friday's game against the Guardians due to left index finger soreness, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Advice: Weathers was only able to get through 2.1 innings before being pulled, during which he allowed two earned runs on four hits while striking out three batters and walking none. The Marlins haven't provided any information regarding the severity of his injury, but they'll likely keep an eye on his finger as he approaches his next scheduled start -- tentatively scheduled for Thursday against the Mets. • Seiya Suzuki leaves with apparent injury vs. Reds
Seiya Suzuki has left Fridays game against the Reds with an apparent injury.

Advice: Suzuki was hit with a throw during a stolen base, and the outfielder didn’t appear to be comfortable after. Mike Tauchman has taken over for Suzuki in right field. It’s likely that the 29-year-old will undergo further evaluation before his status going forward is revealed. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago
    • Weathers leaves due to left index finger injury
Ryan Weathers left Friday’s start against the Guardians with left index finger soreness.

Advice: Weathers threw 2 1/3 innings while allowing two runs before exiting in the third inning. The left-hander will likely undergo testing to determine the severity of the injury, but for now should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
